Thinking about purchasing one to load 9mm Luger.

Other Rounds I am looking to reload are:

.357 magnum
10mm Auto
9x23 Winchester
5.56 Nato

The way they are marketed at grafs makes it seem like each unit is capable of only one caliber. Is it possible to switch between cartridges on 1 unit?

Re: Dillon Super 1050

Yes but it is a pain if you are changing anything other that the top head (ie shellplate or primer system).

Brass that has a military crimp is the main advantage of the 1050s because of the built in swager.

For the price of one 1050 you could nearly buy two xl650's and keep one set up for small primers and the other for large.

Also the caliber conversions are WAY cheaper for the 650's

Re: Dillon Super 1050

Other thing to think about is the warranty. I have 2 super 1050's. 1 set up for smaLl primers and other for large primers. The 1050 only has a 1 year warranty. the 650's have a lifetime no questions asked warranty. You break anything, call up dillon and the part is in the mail the same day. shipped for free also. Changing the tool heads on my 1050's is a pain. Each of the tool heads have to be custom fit to the press. If you don't need the decrimping stage. GO WITH 650.

Forget the 1050 at that volume it's childs play even for a 650. If you have the room I would get a 650 or 550 and 3 square deal B's.

Re: Dillon Super 1050

a 650 with a KISS bullet feeder will do 1000+ rounds an hour and be cheaper than a super 1050.

The 1050 is sweet! If your loading one caliber in bulk. A caliber change is a pain and will cost several hundred bucks.

If I were you and had some money to play with...

A 650 with a MR Bullet feeder and for your small volume stuff a 550.

Re: Dillon Super 1050

i have a 650 and along the way have had some minor problems. 25000 rounds will do that.

those guys are great to deal with, and when they say no bullshit warranty they mean it. every time, no questions asked.

i bought a complete top end including powder thrower for each caliber (9, 40, 45, and 5.56). its about 30 minutes to change over a caliber, including the primer feed.

ive had great luck with brian enos. my only complaint with him is he makes it to easy. he types in my account and i can buy shit from him in 5 minutes.

Re: Dillon Super 1050

i dont have a bullet feeder, but the case feeder is great. i can get about 500 rounds an hour.

i would suggest you buy 10 primer tubes for large and small primers. that way you can load a thousand at a time, that will speed up your loading.

and after a thousand im usually ready to do something else.
