Well I bought a TC Venture in .223 last week. Got disassembling it so I could send it in to have it threaded and I found what appears to be rust around the barrel and along the flat spots where the lugs pass (inside the receiver, but the barrel and bore as well as most of action is clean). There is also a brown/redish gunk down inside there also that you can see in the following pictures
Here are some pictures to help with my poor description.

They aren't the best pictures but my point and shoot sucks at macro's.
I tried to clean most of it with q-tips but I can't get in all of the areas with those (around the barrel inside the receiver).
I did put some brake cleaner on a q-tip and rub the flat spots you can see in picture 1 (they came back blackish) then I applied some CLP to it with a q-tip (the pictures are all from before).
I didn't try any brake cleaner near the barrel because I am not sure I can get it all out even after and then I would have to apply tons of CLP or another lube.
I am on hold with TC customer service but I figured if there is an easy fix I would love not to have to send this back into them
Thanks
