Didnt know where to post this, as its not a movie but whatever.

Any other Dream Theater fans on here?

Im mega shattered that Mike Portnoy decided to pack up and piss off from the band after 25 years of musical awesomeness

Feel like ive lost one of my testicles or something.

For anyone that hasnt heard of DT, check out this clip.

Some of the most talented musicians out there playing extremely technical music... Its all Progressive Metal. Count Of Tuscany almost brings tears to my eyes its that huge, have a listen to it, its split into two parts its so big youtube cant handle its awesomeness.

Dream Theater - Dark Eternal Night (Studio Vid)

Dream Theater - Count Of Tuscany Part 1

Dream Theater - Count Of Tuscany Part 2

Re: Dream Theater

Just saw Dream Theater with Iron Maiden in June, they are definitely awesome musicians.

I would recommend listening to Eddie Trunk on the subject, Sirius radio or online because he is friends with them and will certainly entertain this on Monday.

Re: Dream Theater

I personally liked Falling into Infinity but been listening to them for the past 15 years or so. had the privilege of attending one of Mike Portnoy's Drum clinics in Baton Rouge while in High School. AWESOME AWESOME band.

Portnoy is touring with Avenged Sevenfold filling in for their percussionist James Sullivan. Definitely one of the more "talented" metal bands

Re: Dream Theater

No shit, If anyone needs to quit it's James LaBrie. Add insult to injury that Portnoy goes to play with Avenged Sevenfold.

Maybe Gavin Harrison will take his spot, that dude is a machine on drums.

Re: Dream Theater

LL, your a lucky man getting to see Maiden and DT in the one night that would have truly topped off the list of most awesome gigs ever.

Good to see some solid DT support on here.

Heres to hoping they continue on in 2011

Re: Dream Theater

not really insult to injury as this sort of thing happens all the time in the entertainment industry. Look at Killswitch Engage....Howard Jones missed 3/4 of their tour this year and Phil Labonte from All That Remains filled in for Howard until he came back....aside from that....must be badass to see them live LL. its rediculous he's departing for sure though

Re: Dream Theater

I say insult to injury only because he goes from an epic prog-metal group to a decent modern metal gig. It's not like Portnoy left for a new challenge or anything he couldn't find any time.

Re: Dream Theater

I think they are absolutely incredible musicians.....who have only wrote one "good" song (Pull me under)in their entire career. It's all about the songwriting for me but that's just my opinion. I couldn't listen to this video all the way though. I realize their musical abilities but can not stand their song writing. I would much rather listen to AC/DC.
