Is accuracy dependant mostly on the upper receiver of the LR308 or is it the combination of the upper and lower? I have a pretty accurate LR308 with a Kreiger barrel on it that will do .5 MOA when I am doing my part, but I am trying to wring every ounce of accuracy out of this thing. I noticed that there is a minimal gap between the upper and lower. Would the upper and lower not mating "perfectly" have an affect. I have been looking at the Iron Ridge Arms upper and lowers and they state that they are matched.

Re: Factors that affect the LR 308

Accuracy is in the upper and ammo. If the brass & bullets are being dinged by the barrel extension that will cause some issues. The trigger is another area of concern if the stock trigger is still in place.

A minimal gap means nothing.
The question is.
Is there is movement between the upper and lower DURING the time the bullet is traveling down the barrel?

Front to back?
Up and down?
Side to side?
