Back in the 70s my uncle had an old trailer that he rented out. The guy wouldn’t pay his rent, piled old engines and crap in the yard and refused to move out. The guy left one day and my uncle took his hoe, pealed the roof off grabbed all his junk in the yard and piled it in the house then he pulled up the electrical service stuck it in the house and put the roof back on (somewhat) we were sitting on the back of the truck drinking charter and coke when the guy returned. He was cussing and running around and my uncle said you have 15 minutes to get your shit out. He got a few things out while we were laughing at him the whole time. After he left we dug a hole crushed the trailer up and buried it. Uncle said I’m done with renters.

Damn the good old days were great

wow. so the government lets the lender make all the money while assuming zero risk, and the kids have little chance of actually paying it back.
that's even more retarded.
The government made the student loans unbankrupable. Guaranteed that you will be forced to pay them back. Then schools jacked up the cost to attend and lenders let anyone borrow money regardless of credit.
Write your congressman.
Lol, they were bought and paid for to do this.

No reasonable person would loan a 17 year old kid with no current job $200,000 for a house, car, tractor, bulldozer, or any other plan.

Yet, that same kid can sign up for a $200,000 loan to get a Masters degree in pottery, art history, sociology, or any number of other useless fields of study. I am NOT in favor of full forgiveness, but the university systems should have some accountability.

Maybe a good start is that they list realistic income potential for each major, and refuse to loan more than 2 years salary for that major.

Or maybe, just maybe, parents could guide their kid to a wise choice instead of helping them fail.

Education loans artificially inflated the cost of education. Stop the loans, price comes down. Back in the day before everyone had to go to college tuition was reasonable. Then educators extended their abuse of children to the financial realm.

Don't take them if you don't like them. Jesus fuck you leftists bitch endlessly. Seeing a fuckwit with a two year community college degree and $80K in debt proves the education system in this country has fucking failed. Oh wait? Maybe it was Harvard Community College's junior law school? What fuckwit parent supports this?

Despite what the average asshole thinks its entirely possible to get an education with minimal debt. The mystery is why are they going at all in 50% of the cases. Getting a fucking useless degree and earning minimum wage after four years of bullshit? Seriously.

We have a family member who decided to go back to school for a masters in social work. Recommended by her boss. Two additional years, $50,000 additional dollars, three additional dollars per hour.

Yeah, that degree paid for itself in a decade and allowed her to earn almost 1/3rd of my pay.

You could learn about using capital letters at the beginning of a sentence or something.

You're points are valid, but our "government" schools are not preparing the kids to make these important decisions logically.
It really all goes back to evil teachers unions that don't give a fuck about kids, and democrat run failure factories churning out criminals and idiots.

/hope that makes it easier for you to read.

wow!

My daughter is entering her senior year of high school. She’s been accepted to a small private university and half of her cost is covered by the university scholarship program. Will be interesting what other scholarships she picks up along the way. She wants to be a PA and they have a fast track for that and partnered with Mayo Clinic. If she’s not accepted into the fast track, they only accept 18 students/year, she’ll be a bio chemistry major and then to grad school for PA. It’s going to be expensive but at least she will make enough money to pay her share upon graduating.

good luck to her! my son-in-law just got his PA license.
my daughter has her masters (and no debt) because she didn't borrow $100k so she could eat out at panera bread and drink starbucks every fucking day. i did help her pay off what debt she did have.

If they put them in Rikers…even just for a day…they wouldn’t do it again. In NYC I’m surprised nobody just ran them over while they are blocking the street. lol
Needs more billyclubs and tear gas.... fk those hippies
more Cujo.. dogs need some action

Leave it to the daily mail to pause the video just before the goring.
I put up with the cyber security ad and the video of the goring was a complete disappointment.
Fucking Brits.

We started saving for college when our kids were born. Did not expect to have to go private school, but covid insanity changed that. Honestly looking at less expensive schools that may actually be worth it...

A year at FSU (tuition, room, board, books, everything) runs about $36K. I am paying almost that for private school, and that doesn't include room and board. That said, my kids are probably doing college level work by sophomore year. I am in one of the best school districts, and there is still a massive difference in expectations. I feel very confident that I am setting them up to succeed in college, but I am not paying, and I am not cosigning on any amount over about that $36K, which is already a huge chunk of change. I will certainly make the offer to put all that money in an account bearing compound interest that will easily provide a very comfortable early retirement. I wish someone would have made that offer to me, but there's a 99% chance I'd have been too ignorant to take it.

There are a lot of places to get a four year education for not a whole lot more than $100K all in. If stay in your home state or move to that state there are tons of reasonable places to go. That won't leave the 22 y/o idiot with crushing debt. You just can't be stupid about it.

Until they pull over a muzzy. Oh sorry, it's part of your rape culture. Carry on.
Their fucking GONE, done, finished .. Unbelievable, UK not happy until they are in complete control over every single aspect of it's citizens social behavior. The fucking Communist Jackboot cocksucking asshole even states that it technically not an illegal action. Punishment is dealt out because 'they' are in agreement, and feel it to be undesirable behavior, that may even lead to possible future criminal behavior .

And you need to choose a degree that you can actually earn a living with. A masters in underwater basket weaving or gender studies isn't going to pay the cell phone bill much less all the other bills.
