FCC bands robo calls

It will not change anything . I has to be proven scam/fraudulent calls, or 'Spoofing' (like a local call) , using your Area Code displayed on your caller ID to get you to pick-up .
You still going to get mass saturation bombardment of ROBO . So basically it is just more worthless Federal regulation that does nothing for you .

Who knows if it will change anything. A old neighbor of mine owned a robo call center in Tijuana, and I doubt they’ll do anything to him.
May he die a slow painful death

"Just don't answer phone numbers you don't recognize" doesn't work if you run a business or sell things

I agree, luckily he got grabbed up by the irs and lost everything. Absolute piece of shit who bragged to me (16 at the time) how he’s banging all his secretaries.

I can’t ignore phone calls either, I probably get 7 a day, most of the time they call about insurance or my car warranty .

"The warranty on your car is expiring and this will be your final chance to keep this valuable coverage." Sound familiar?

Exactly. I have also seen a lot where I answer and it’s silence for ~5 seconds then hangs up. I have a weird feeling once you pick up, they’ll call that number more often. My personal phone rarely gets them, but when I answer I’ll get a few more that day.

Story I got was the machine calls several numbers at once. Disconnected others when one answers.

BTW, how many here have "unbondable" warrants issued by the IRS? I'm afraid to leave home.

I loved it when I got the call about your computer system license is about expire or there is a virus on your machine.

I would always call back and ask them a few questions. First I would give them the serial numbers of the IBM mainframe computer & ask, which one? My other favorite would be to ask, I am getting this system abend code, is that what you are referring to? They would always hang up on me.

Oh, I sometimes ask, do you know JCL? Ok, as an old COBOL programmer I will slink back into my cube, never mind.

Another useless piece of feel good legislation created to make you think that your elected local whore politician is actually doing something for you other than deciding how to spend your money.

I’ve been on the do not call list for almost 20 years and I still receive between 5-10 calls per day from “local” numbers. If you want to talk to me and you are not in my phone as someone or a business that I normally deal with, you had better leave a message that makes me think it’s worth my time to call you back.

And no, these are not affiliates of places that I do business with. “Privacy Notices” my ass...

OHhhhh. there doing something, called business as usual .
they seeing how much-$$$ they can get 'extort' shuffled in there pocket from both sides affected by the restrictive legislation passed . They take money from both sides Lobbying, those that are want/benefiting from Fed. Regulation restrictions and the other side that No want/gets hurt monetarily from more FCC restrictions .
