I finally sent the funds for the purchase of a Surefire FA762SS. Hopefully this goes all smooth and my form 4 comes fast! Now, after I have spent the extra cash on the Surefire, why is it so much more costly than other suppressors? Is there any benefits? I am happy with this purchase for my rifle, however I always question why... any answers or insight will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Finally bought Surefire 762ss

There were many reasons I chose this can after months of careful research. I am curious why you are asking about the benefits now, instead of perhaps finding a cheaper alternative that would have suited your needs?

Pin and weld law in CT stuck me with the surefire 762 and 556.

can someone shed some light on this for me? i did a quick search and saw a couple posts that brought up a flash hider. does the way the statute is written pertain differently to those with a bolt action rifle and threaded barrel with aspirations of building a suppressor?

understood. thank you for addressing my question with no ambiguity.

Re: Finally bought Surefire 762ss

they cost more because people are willing to pay that price for them?

i always thought it was because they were riding their military contract into marketing and people would pay a premium for the exact same thing used by SOCOM.

they might be good, but are they $900-$1000 better than a TBAC 30p-1? my opinion is no.

Well like i said... I was stuck with it because of my states laws... But beyond that, i did not want a titanium can for high rates of fire. I run my surefire on a gas gun mostly.

Re: Finally bought Surefire 762ss

If your paying $900-$1000 over what a TBAC cost I hope the dealer at least wined and dined you before the sodomy.

POI shift for a detachable can is non-existent with the Surefire.

If you ever get a chance to own a TBAC I recommend it also.
