Took a bunch of saving pennies but the time has finally came to upgrade my optic. I've narrowed it down to either a Bushnell ERS 3.5-21x50 in a DTA mount or a Vortex Razor 5-20x50 in a Sphur mount. I like the fact that the Razor is illuminated but that isn't a big drawback. Both are in the exact same price range as both can be had for $2K and that is the absolute max of my budget. Any thoughts or suggestions on this decision would be greatly appreciated. This is by far way out of my normal budget so I want to do this only once.

Edit: Just a little back fill of info. I'm mainly just an avid target shooter with the yearning to get into the long range discipline. I've summers off normally and would like to attend a few events this summer to get my feet wet.

There's a IOR 6-24x56mm FFP in the PX for sale at the moment. Can anyone tell me how this scope stacks up against the other two I ask about?

Thanks for the reply! I like the illumination feature on the Razor. Mile High only has the MOA/MOA items in stock and I'd really like a MIl/Mil. This isn't a really big deal as I've always used MOA in the past. I like the compact design of the ESR so each of my options have great positives with very few minuses. From my many pages of reading it seems that the ESR and Razor really stack up pretty closely so preference is going to be the main selling point. Such a close call to be honest at the moment.
