Just got a used fn spr a1. In the process of cleaning the barrel action etc. after getting it greased go through the motions racking the bolt to compare it to my other rifles and I noticed the firing pin releases once in a while when you rack the bolt quickly. It does have a timney trigger installed in it. It seems like it is set pretty light. Is this adjustable to a point where it’s actually safe?

That is not good it should never release manipulating the bolt.
Get the manual and like @lennyo3034 said probably not enough sear engagement you should be able to fix that.

Call timney and they should be able to walk you through it.

Ok thanks. I’ll do a little more research. Normally I’d just cycle the bolt slow and be mindful of it. I purchased this gun to cycle fast with lightweight bullets so I need to get it squared away.

It's an FN SPR action they came from the factory with a Winchester 70 trigger. They are very easily adjusted by the a knowledgeable user and are excellent triggers. However, the sear adjustment is not user adjustable, but the issue could be the pull weight. Google Winchester 70 trigger adjustment and you'll get lots of information.

If a timney 510 is set too light it will do that. Increase the trigger pull by turning the set screw 1/8 turn at a time until it stops doing that. This is how I set all of mine.

If you want a lighter weight trigger than that buy a timney calvin elite or a triggertech special.

The trigger itself isn’t bad. It’s not a jewel trigger tech or gieselle.. the only thing I would change it out for would be a good two stage. I absolutely love a good 2 stage trigger. For now I’ll adjust it and see what happens. Timney got back to me this morning. I just haven’t had a chance to mess with it.
