Anybody have video or pictures comparing their FP RAPTARs to other popular IR devices (DBAL, PERST, PEQ, MAWL, etc...). Kinda surprised I haven't seen anything yet considering how large the latest group buy was, but maybe I missed it..

The FP raptar isn't a great illuminator. It has a good pointer, but the illum is pretty weak compared to most of the competition.

The standard power PEQ-15 illum is 30mW https://www.eotechinc.com/advanced-...-aiming-laser-atpial-standard-power-an-peq-15
Besides the standard power PEQ-15, there are the more powerful LA-5s which come in 80mW (HP) and a 200mW (UHP) versions.

Steiner DBAL a3 ... older model illum is 50 mW https://www.steiner-defense.com/laser-devices/dbal-series/dbal-a3
    Newer ones are 200 mW.

Note, it can also be said that the RAPTARs significantly out perform the OP's list of "competition" in the laser range finding department !!

The civilian version of the DBAL A3 illuminator is 4mW for another comparison.

Some of us use the ELIR-3s ... as our bargin basement laser illuminators ... my older ones are said to be 90 mW and have no "artifacts" ... whereas unfortunately, the newer ones are said to be 70 mW and do show "artifcacts" ... :(

I think the peq2s are 50mw. They seemed to work decent.

Some interesting reading in this thread in Re to Illuminators
