I just chronagraphed my 44.5 of Re15 -155 Scenar and had a average of 2750fps shooting a Gap semi auto 24inch Bartlein barrel. 30 degrees temp. Does great groups. Will this speed get me to 900 yards or should I look for a higher speed. Thanks, Lance

Re: Gap ar10 155scenars/Re15

No pressure signs at all. I tried 44.0, 44.5,45,45.5 and 46 of Re15. 44.5 was the best grouping by far. George of Gap said try from 44.0 to 46.0

Re: Gap ar10 155scenars/Re15

Don't know if this helps at all, but I have nailed the gong at 900 on the first shot a couple times with my AR10 shooting 155scenars in Win brass and 45gr IMR4895 at 2743 fps. Does about .5 MOA at 100 all day long.

Re: Gap ar10 155scenars/Re15

may as well as keep it at 175gr. at that speed...the 155 lapua shine at 2900+fps.BUT...you are going to loose some speed simply because its a gas gun...

Re: Gap ar10 155scenars/Re15

Looks like you're getting some good results with RL15. I went with Varget for my AR10 needs and I may have gotten the slowest lot ever. I'm getting the same velocity but with 46gr. 46.5 and I start getting swipes and the SD goes haywire. I was hoping to at least break into the 2800-2850 range with the 155gr SCENAR.

Barrel is a 21" Stainless Noveske with 1/10" Polygonal Rifling.

Re: Gap ar10 155scenars/Re15

I'm starting to work up loads for my AR as well. Just bought an Armalite 10t with the 24inch barrel. Rifle is stock as far as I can tell. It seems to like 175's.
I apologize for stepping in on your thread but I would like to ask what mods should I try first on my AR. I'm wanting to shoot to 900 with this rifle and stay within an MOA. Looks like the 155's are a good start. What else should I be looking at?
