GAP Crusader on the way!

[Hi Speed]

I just ordered an in stock Crusader .308 from GAP this morning. They will install a thruster brake before shipment and send it on it's way. Karey was straight to the point and as nice as a guy could be. 4th time doing business with them. Unfortunately I was told that Rocky had passed, sadness.

Wondering what factory loads to start with? 168's, 175's, or 178's. BHG, FGMM, or Hornady. Anybody have any suggestions.

I,ve had 3 crusaders and the load below shot bugholes with every rifle.

175 mk
43.5 varget or re-15
cci br2 primer
lapua or winchester case

I got my Crusader about 6 weeks ago and have been developing a "go to" load for it.
Your load pretty much mirrors exactly what I have found with my Crusader.

175 SMK
43.5 Varget
FGMM primer
Lapua brass

Shoots very well. 0.458 MOA at 100.

However on my last load ladder, I think I found a node above 44.5.

I don;t know how much room I have to work above 44.5, but plan on testing some between 44 an 45 this weekend. Any luck in that range?

not really. There is usually a node between 44 and 44.5 as well but i always see better results with the 43.5 load.

yep mine shoots the 175's and 178's with 43.0g Varget, but that isn't far off your 43.5g varget. Pretty consistent. it'll bug hole.

What kind of speeds are guys getting with those loads?
