In my quest to find things that work simply and simply work , few have been the pleasure this little rifle has been to discover.
I have rifles that cost as much as a family car but here is a cheap as chips simple design that shoots sub MOA and packs down into
a pair of football socks. Its an H&R handy rifle in 308 , It shoots just about anything ive fed it into groups that Ive payed thousands to copy in custom
guns. 168g A-max at 2650 spell the end for everything its pointed at , I break it down into an Eberlestock secret weapon day pack for covering ground knowning that in less than 30 secs I can have it together and shooting , almost too simple and good to be true.

Nice pig. I too like the Handi Rifle. I have a .223 and .357 (soon to be Maxi'd) that will both do 1.5" or better with a 4x scope. I think the biggest problem with that is limited ammo to test for best groupings and I don't reload. They still perform great for my purposes and the distances I have the opportunity to hunt at (usually 200yds or less). What is that underneath the forend?

for some reason one of these rifles just screams for me to buy it. i think i am going to get one in 223 and thread it. looks like most of them are 1/9tw nowadays anyhow. be fun suppressed with my pvs-14 stuck on it. what is the twist on the 308 version distant? one of those couldnt hurt to have either...

I have one in .44 mag for my kids to deer hunt with. It has sufficient weight to reduce felt recoil for them and easy to carry. As you stated it will flat out shoot also and I have pinged steel out to 175 yards with no problem. If I did anything to this rifle I would lighten the trigger a tad. 2 thumbs up for the handi rifle!

Them lil things ain't nothing to scoff at...I have one in 17 HMR, 308 and a Slug Gun...all of em are accurate as hell! Cheap, easy and loads of fun! Lots of info over at GreyBeard forum on em...trigger work etc..

Sorry I have been slow to get back to this redleg , thats a stony point bipod attachment there on the forend , I also have a Pic section that mounts onto a LaRue quick detachable mount that swings right into my Manfrotto camera tripod if im in a hide. I have tinkered around with this little rifle and achieved some fantastic results , its very capable , very accurate , folds up to nothing and is just plain fun ........... next its about to be all over FDE Cerakoted and then I think im plumb out of tinkering ideas

I too have a Handi-rifle in 45/70. Factory Hornady Lever-Revolution will put three shots touching at 100 yards. Deer and pigs don't care for it too much.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I thought the one piece was a qd detach screw, but I now know it is for the bipod.
