Is it an "intellectual prowess" thing in re: Marines or, perhaps, a "DEI/WokeLGBTQ" thing (considering the "rainbow" of colors)???

It was used as an insult, kinda like calling someone a window licker. They called us crayon eaters, but in traditional style we embrace it. It's pretty hard/next to impossible to insult a marine.
We've done so much with so little for so long that we can do anything with nothing.
