I thought they would sell a lot of their new MIL XT reticles at the price point of around $3100 plus included incentives for the7-35x56....At $3600 for MSRP that’s very steep and at $4000 that’s absolutely a lot of money ......lol....

I wonder who thought this was such a great idea?

Cheers

quite a few dealers announced last year there would b a price increase, so u were encouraged to at least put a down payment on one to hold the price. I found out there is a good discount if ur willing to pay cash also. Cash is still king

I agree completely. I prepurchasd the Mil XT not knowing there was going to Be such a substantial price increase because I would have pre bought a mil XT 4-16x50 (I absolutely love my atacrs in 4-16 mil c and 5-25...the only other optic I think is as good is the Kahles...JMHO

I was hoping to pick up my first NF scope when they came out with their Christmas tree reticle but then saw the price. Nope. I picked up another Vortex gen 2 razor with the ebt-7c reticle instead.

I’m a bit concerned that because NF vaulted to the head of the pack at PRS maybe they feel their price increases are justified. I love NF. I think they are right now at the very top of their game and have never been better. I suspect that they will start offering lots of incentives when sales drop off. There is a market for 3500 dollar optics....just not a very big one.....

I love Vortex. Their is no better warranty on the market IMHO. I have however had two of the 4-27’s and they were too heavy and both broke after one season. I will wait on Vortex until the QC improves ormaybe I just has bad luck...

I've never seen a new 7-35x for $3100. When I got mine, they were listed at $3492. If they're $3600 now, that's a 3% increase. A $108 increase doesn't seem that bad, and certainly wouldn't change my mind.

Just out of curiosity, what did Vortex end up doing to repair them?

they replaced each one. Their isn’t better customer service anywhere that I’ve experienced.

MSRP was somewhere around $2800 when I picked up my NF ATACR 5-25 F1 MIL-R a couple years back. I was able to get it for around $300 less than MSRP at that time. I don’t think that would be doable now for even the same reticle.
No Sir; I paid somewhere around the same for each for the Mil-C reticles 5-25x56 as it’s my favorite NF. I also have (1 ) of the 4-16 and it’s outstanding. Kahles is my other favorite optic although 3100 is a bit to much to swallow for me onbthe 3.5–18 which is an awesome optic. It’s just the for that money I’d rather buy the 525 that’s where I have that issue.....LOL

I'm a Nightforce dealer. Here's the gouge on current NF pricing:

MSRP (minimum suggested retail price) did not change in 2019 when compared to that of 2018.

Nobody ever really used MSRP on NF scopes for a price in the past.

MAP (minimum advertised price), the price everyone must advertise, which used to be 3% below MSRP, is now the same as MSRP.

So, you have a 3% across the board MAP price increase.

What Palmetto-Pride said is also correct.

You didn't have bad luck. As was told to me, there's a reason for that unlimited lifetime warranty.

doesn't make a lot of sense to me , to hang my bragging rights on a product that's well known because of great warranty. I would think u would want to be known as a product that never needs a warranty.

I think being in the most used optics every year would be a big bragging point as well. No matter how the shooter got it, paid for it, partial/full sponsorship, they aren’t going to run something that has a high chance of failing on them.

I don’t currently run vortex, but I have, and haven’t had any issues with the gen 2 or amg.

I have however had an atacr take a shit on me, seen a schmidt fill with water in the rain, three minox’s have wandering zero. Also know someone who’s amg turrets went tits up.

Point is, they all fail.

Unless someone can provide numbers showing vortex higher end stuff is returned in a higher percentage than other brands, it’s like a case if there being a metric shit ton of vortex optics out there. Consequently you see more going down or know of someone who has.

It’s the percentage of returns that matters, not the number of returns.

I wasn’t bragging. I was stating that I wouldn’t hesitate buying a vortex product if I liked it. They are a stand up company. They were at the top of PRS for a while but several other companies have bested them. This I hope will be the impetus to help get Vortex back closer to the top. I’m a Nightforce/ Kahles guy but I love Vortex because they are good people and they do stand behind their products. I have heard some good things about the AMG....I have always been happy with my NXS’s, and Atacr’s so I see no reason to go back.....

"As was told to me"- take that shit back to arf.com. We expect first hand knowledge here.

Don’t get them panties all bunched up! It’ll be okay, I promise.

That statement was made to me just before the start of a competition. You know, the same competition when that very scope shit the bed. Approximately 4 hours later, in fact. The dude that made the statement had a grand ol’ time because he had been affirmed to the eleventeenth degree.

Apparently you haven’t been here long enough to have read all my magnificent “first hand knowledge” of how many piece of shit Vortex optics I have had go down on myself. I don’t even bother including the few friends I have that have had their Razors shit the bed as well...it would just be too much for folks like yourself to handle.

And just so you’re 100% satisfied, I have relayed the same over on arfcom.

So, because I’ve either seen or had more brands other than vortex go tits up, they must be as shitty or worse than vortex?

I mean, since you’ve seen more vortex go to shit and cause some guy said something, and I’ve seen more Schmidt’s go down than vortex.........

The logic is sound right?

Dude, don’t waste your time with dousche bags. Haters are gonna hate...Don’t worry about justifying what you like. Who gives a flying f### what other people think? Some of the banter on this board reminds me of the Pyschiatry portion of my residency....Their are some really incredibly great guys that will help and add value while there are miserable ones that have nothing going on in their lives
