Heated ultrasonic cleaner == frickin' awsome!

I was able to find a heated ultrasonic cleaner on ebay for a good price (not a cheap little one...a decent sized professional one). It's about 5.25" wide, 19.5" long and 8" deep inside. All stainless, has a drain port with a ball valve. Picked up two gallons of M-Pro7 from Midway. It's absolutely amazing. Dropped one of my AR BCGs, upper receiver, some small parts, my brothers Umarex MP5-22 receiver, etc... in there. Left them in for about two hours and they are spotless (I mean that, better than you'd ever get by hand). They gleam. The AR cycles like it's riding on ball bearings. It hasn't been that clean since I built that one.

Okay, I think you get it...I'm ecstatic. If you get a chance to get one of these for a good price, then jump on it. There is absolutely nothing better.

Wow that's not cheap cleaner. I looked really hard at the Hornady and a couple others not long ago but in the end I just got a Lyman tumbler, although I'd still like try an ultrasonic.

I'm glad to hear the positive review. Can you clean brass or is it just for steel parts? I hear heated chemical liquid and my spidey sense tingles. Also, did you lubricate the ARs when you put em back together or is the cleaner self-lubricating.

Be sure to give us an update after you get some more time with it. How long does the cleaner last? Reliability and longevity of the unit? etc

enjoy the tank.

I have had mine smaller size. I put my brass into pyrex beakers (various sizes for the volume that I need to clean) and fill the tank with water from the tap. The cleaner goes only into the beakers with teh brass.

saves a ton of $$ on cleaner, but I have the space to do bigger jobs, like a .45 ACP slide from my Colt or Ed Brown if I feel the need.

Yup, you can clean whatever you want to put in there...I've run some carburetor parts through it and it does an amazing job (mind you for the carb parts I drained out the M-Pro7 and filled it with degreaser).

AR's were lubricated afterwards. I've seen some self lubricating cleaning fluids for guns...just never seen them work well (either at cleaning or lubricating).

The M-Pro7 should last a long time. The sonic cleaner itself, well, mines a used one, it's a Bransonic B-42...it's actually made for the medical field. Cost new is up in the $1500 range as far as I've been able to tell, I found mine on ebay for $200. They'll last a good long time, they really get used in hospitals and they just keep on truckin', so I don't think I'll have any problems with mine
