HELP! removing a "skim" bed/bedding

Bought this here, the level of damage amd the fact that it wasnt useable at all was not articulated properly..

I'm suck with it now, what do I do? How can you remove bedding like this from an aluminum chassis? Anyone have experience with this??

Heat, acetone and a good scraper or razor blade.

I've removed JB weld from wood with a heat gun. If you can remove the chassis metal from the polymer a heat gun should make the epoxy crumble away fairly easily.

Yep heat should be your best option. Just take it easy. They say it should come off at 600 degrees but keep an eye on surrounding parts

Dremel with a grinder bit. Gonna be fastest option then rebed it.

The heat gun, so far, sounds the best, I'm worried about the recoil lug area though. Its caked in there deep. Hopefully multiple passes and I'll be ok...

I'd REALLY like to avoid rebedding it. Zero clue why people bed chassis anyways

They bed them for a couple reasons.

1. Some you tube blow hole told them they needed to for a long range rifle, and they did it not looking for results, but so they could say it was bedded.

2. The action they had in it was not straight and would not shoot with out bedding.

Have you contacted the seller about the issue? Seems like the best thing to do would be return it if it was misrepresented

A dowel rod about tie diameter of the action wrapped in sandpaper will remove the material much more uniformly than a dremel will.

An action diameter ball mill and a Bridgeport would be ideal for this task.

I'm a little baffled on why one bed that stock as well.

If we're me, Dremel carbide round wheel and new skim bedding around lug if you take a little aluminum with the wheel.
