Hi guys,

looking to run my Mk4 spotter inverted on a hog saddle. I know this setup is being used in service, just wasn't sure if that was a desirable thing or a "this is what we have to work with" thing. A question to those who are using this setup, how do you find it? is it stable and retain the scope well? or is it unstable, shifting and slipping out with every bump or nudge?. I would be using it as my primary inverted spotter mount.
Thanks

Regards,

Steve

It's good to go, my buddy uses his all the time like this. Quick and easy setup and very solid.

I do exactly this. I carry the setup in every match, its 100% solid and allows me to not have to keep track of a losse saddle. Instead everything is right there, when I need to I release the spotter and throw my rifle in it and shoot. The MK4 is to wide down bottom to run the spotter right side up, inverted is the only way this works.

Thanks for the replies guys, I might have to invest in one. Dt1 dude thats not a hog saddle, thats an inverted mount the poster made by bending a piece of alloy sheet. The attached pic is the hog with the mk4. Also seen in this video mounted http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgVx9bvayVM&feature=player_embedded

I use it inverted as it keeps the objective up and my head down...

Steve,

The HOG Saddle is designed to be able to mount to a Leupold Mk4 spotter. It's not a jerry-rigged concept of being "poor in the Corps".
Military guys are often seen doing this because it's efficient. Without the need for special QD plates or adapters, the shooter can fluidly go from spotting to shooting using the same kit.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

The M49 is due to being poor in the Corps... (pic below)
