How many rounds is a 308 receiver set good for?

Are there any potential issues I need to look for when purchasing a used large frame AR receiver set with 2000 or so rounds on it? Are there areas on the receiver that could fail or become out of tolerance from the original specs with use over time and round count?

Any thoughts, experiences or snide comments are welcome.

Thanks

2k is nothing , forged receivers are stronger and will last longer than billet. You'll run out of money before you will wear out a receiver. Stock up on bolts, bolt parts, barrels, gas tubes and buffer springs if you are shooting that much to be a real concern.

Thanks for the info. Looking at a used set with quite a few rounds through it. Just didn't know where a more cautious approach would be appropriate. Sounds like it isn't even close.

I bought a used Areo M5 308 with lots of rounds through it. Reason: someone I know needed cash and was looking to move a gun

The barrel was a bit worn
The bolt was a bit worn

Everything else was fine, it was priced accordingly. I shot it for a while (couple years) as is, and I could hit targets, just could not get 10 shot tight groups out of it (could get 3 shot touching at 100 yards)

Recently I put a BA 18" barrel (+ new gas tube) on it and a Brownells Bolt/BCG in it and a springco spring in the buffer tube

Its been a great gun for me, I have no regrets buying it used.

You should not have any worries on the lower receiver unless he used the gun as a pry bar for some reason.

Other thoughts, you should always be cautious buying a used large frame AR
Test it with some go-no go gauges before you buy it if you can.
Test fire it before you buy it if you can
