I showed them I was Worth that chance here I am 10 yrs later I'm a very different person then I was at 20 yrs old so yes I believe people can change and if they have them I think they deserve to have a chance no one is perfect there are cops on the job now that don't deserve to be but have never been in trouble or at least never cought so I don't think people should be put in one box not everyone is the same it should be a case by case situation
I think that your view is a little clouded not all convicted felons are career criminals for example I'm 30 yrs old I'm a paramedic and IV been a HOA officer for almost 10 yrs I actually just got my third promotion to captain 10 yrs ago when I was 20 2 months after my 20th birthday I was arrested for the very first time before that arrest I never so much had a ticket but here I was arrested at 20 charged with a felony criminal destruction of property I beat up my sisters boyfriends car for putting his hands on her so it happens but I served my time and changed my life here I am now at 30 a very different person then I was at 20 so the lines not black and white

Lol there are officers that do that but I'm not that kind i usually work with people and I'm on our SERT team I respond to medical incident calls treat till EMS get there I also deal with fires and accident calls I go by the protocol if your cool with me I try to work with you and will help you out if I can I don't go out of my way to be a jerk but I do have a job to do so if you don't respect the rules I have to enforce them but there's always room to make a solution that makes everyone happy

In September of 2022 the board approved the use of a security emergency response team after a incident at our event center when a riot broke out at an amateur pop concert 17 people were injury bc the county response time was to long because they don't have a sheriff's office only a small police department and we are responsible for the HOA and the safety . The requirements to be on the HOA S.E.R.T unit are prior military police fire rescue or EMS and being I'm a paramedic I qualified to join the unit the S.E.R.T only response to emergencies the regular patrol SPECIALIST'S cant handle one on one and it's rare that the HOA activates the unit so we are assigned to the patrol SPECIALIST'S unit until activated.
