Gunsmithing How to Trigger assembly please?

Re: How to Trigger assembly please?

No hammer to be had on these triggers. I'm assuming you're calling the sear a "hammer".

So you have the 2 pins to hold the trigger to the action, a coil spring, and a silver piece with one end rounded and the other end sort of hooked?

Anything more to assemble?

Re: How to Trigger assembly please?

Yes. I figured out wear the sear and the small coil goes. Now Ive got the long pin type spring to hold the trigger in but not sure how to install and keep the sear and coil from popping out.

Re: How to Trigger assembly please?

Gonna be honest with you, it is a bitch to put back in if you haven't done it before. You'll feel like you need three hands. I always thought it was easier to put the forward pin in first where the spring is, and then put in the rear pin. You'll have to play with it, cuss hard a few times, and then play with it again.

This will help. Not an X-Mark but this all goes back in the same way, old style or X-Mark.

the short one

Re: How to Trigger assembly please?

Put the front pin in first as you can't get it in once the rear is in. Pins go in from the left side. Don't worry about the sear spring as you can put it in once the front pin, trigger housing and sear are pinned in place. Put the sear spring in the hole and then lower the sear. I use another punch or suitable tool to hold the end of the sear and housing in place while I start the pin and make sure the mag release and spring are in place.

Thanks a bunch. Doing rifle re-vamp on my 700P and this is one stop along the way.
