hutterites are poor?

I am trying to figure this out. Hutterites are a religious group that lives on colonies. They are under a corporation and each person gets paid so little they are on medicare medicaide and kids use the chip program extensivly. Yet they go out and buy up farms at prices no one else can afford. How then are they so poor to get all this goverment money they get intended for poor people?

And here is a kicker. They now get social security even though they never paid in a dime.

My rant is now over. I may have to write a senator now.

Twin brother in Kali sells the colonies several hundred thousand dollars in equipment every yr for their kitchens. They are their best noncorporate customers, money is not an issue.

I dealt with them some in a past job in the late 70's around Augusta etc. Never had any issues but you had to be on your toes as they had no issues with taking advantage of a situation. The individuals have virtually nothing but the 'colonies' do, at least most. Business's in GF had trouble with shop lifting etc from the younger ones especially for makeup, jewelry etc, anything the colony forbid them to buy/own.

I hired them winter of 78/79 to push snow with their D8 for us around Augustus(Kleinsasser Colony IIRC). Took 2 of them to ride the crawler all day.lol They weren't professional skinners but that wasn't what I was told prior.

They don't care to contribute to our government but have no issues with withdrawing.lol Guess our SS system bases qualifications on them being US citizens and not on what they individually contribute to it???? No wonder we and SS are broke!!!!

Up here in Canada, the Hutterite's enjoy the luxuries of many things. Laws, land, vehicles, labour laws, just to name a few.

There are many many colonies in this province. I've done some business with a few, and have never had a problem. Now some others I know, they have stories to tell.

But what about those who have colonies along the border (Can/US)... that's a bit of a thing to itself now, isn't it?

Everyone is doing great. We are living on the farm now and getting ready to put seed in the ground. If it ever warms up enough.

I have lived next a colony my whole life. Like most "groups" of people they are not all bad, just most, and don't trust a single one of them. I have a mechanic business also and I will not work for them or hire them to do anything.

Just heard yesterday how they bought a farm for over twice the going rate then hear how broke the colony is. They lie like no other.

Could one of you point me to where these Hutters get free money? I cant seem to find that anyplace and did find a few places that insist the Hutters cant draw social security or unemployment.

I know its odd to see some noncapitalists succeed and prove some forms of communism can compete when a paranoid tryant isnt syphoning off the cream for his chronies.

Farmers get amazing tax breaks and government handouts every year. Any attempt to limit the total amount paid fer farmer is ruthlessly fought by Repub and Demo alike.

Ag property taxes are the lowest. Farmers get to write off a great deal of expenses other business owner just wish they could. Its a funny deal but quite a few non farmers try to put a few chickens on their place in an attempt to qualify as a farm.

I dont think Hutters are poor, just dont go for displays of wealth be they gold accented SUVs, McMansions, or that 5K tacticool rifle.

When you dont spend 25K on a wedding, of 10K for yearly vactions to Costa Rica...

You can buy alot of land.
