Some of the guys from the 08xx field are a little out there.
I'd be interested in a range report myself. </div></div>
LMAO!! ya know all the years I've been on the hide and that's the first time someone has called me out of my MOS. You are correct, we are a weird bunch.
Okay no range report yet, I'll do that on a new thread but I just picked it up, it's a bit over the top on the silly but here are the first impressions. As always, I try to be as objective (no pun intended) as possible and stay away from any buyer's bias.
Okay details this is a 1.25x4 with a lit dot in the center of the ret. The tube is 30mm as is the objective click adjustments are positive not nearly of a higher end scope like a NF but more like a Burris XTR. The scope comes with two different elevation dials one for 168 gr .308 and one for 55 gr. .223 (obviously sighted in to Horandy "zombie max" ammo) The Elevation turret is set up to dial in for 100 1.5 200 and so on to 500 yards. There are 8 clicks in between each 100 yard hash (4 between say 1.5 and 2). Windage seems to be in 1/4 MOA. Honestly, I'm not hoping for much here because as we know in scopes typically found in this price range repeatability and precision adjustment is a bit shady to say the least. we'll find out on the range. The scope also came with lens covers, and pretty good ones. The rear is the push button style and front is the snap in place type. The inside of the lens caps have a zombie theme, I can live with that. Where you would typically find the gold leupold ring is replaced with a green ring, yuk.
Looking threw the glass. Clarity is excellent, The reticule is a bit hollywood, crosshairs with hash marks with a center circle. I don't know how I will like this, further more (since I am a man and I have yet to pick up the manual) I have no idea what the hash marks are, Mil, MOA, ballistic... no clue yet.
4 ft at 1.25 setting is nice and clear. The 4x setting is very nice and makes targets at 500 yards easy to see. Although, very hard to take pictures of so instead you get a pic of the mini van in my parking lot. (and of course I've ranged everything from my office window).
So far I am impressed, a bit put off by the zombie thing but I think this will be fun as hell for the summer and maybe more.
Stay tuned for the thread on the range report.
