WOOOOO WHOOOOO ! It frigging finally worked. Hate Computers. For some reason this has been a pain in the ass to get posted. Got to video some shots after loading up some 168 Bergers w/RL22. Just kissing the lands on an outta the box (around 1970) Model 700 BDL and a new Ziess 4.5-14x44 w/rapid Z 800. Still within scope at 1,230yds. Amazing. Watch all the indicators of the wind. It was everywhere, but for most of the flight it was 9-3, so I just stuck with that. Damn those pills track. I'm impressed with them.

I love my 168's! Factory Remington Sendero, 72gr Retumbo, 3150fps. I'm planning on taking it out to 1000 this weekend. Looking forward to that! </div></div>

DO IT !! Then go beyond. All new to me but I'll tell ya, 1200 is so doable if it's in your scope. I don't even have an MOA base, or need one for what I wanna do. Let us know how a K goes if ya would.

I'm good out to 1400 with my set up (zero MOA base). I'd like to get a 20 MOA base eventually, that'll get me to 1750... (according to BulletFlight)

    I noticed that as well...

If you meant "Am I the only one that is confused", the answer may very well be YES. So I'll break it down for ya and make it a little more easier. The vid is of me shooting my 7Mag w/168gr Bergers. 168gr Bergers is the main jist here of what I'm speaking. Now in favor of these bullets I mentioned a friends 300Mag shooting the same bullet, but in 30 Cal of course, yet still 168grs and it too shoots lights out. Hope this helps and my sincere apologies for the tardy response. Tough Crowd

Have you tried .30 Berger 168gr. Hybrid Target?

There are many mention that VLD will accuracy depend one seating depth sensitive. Is it right?

    Absolutely from my experience with the Berger VLD Hunting Bullets I've loaded. .25 Cal 115gr, .270 Cal 130gr, .284 168gr X 3 seperate 7MM's, .30 Cal 168gr & 210gr.

Have not shot either Hybrid or Target. My understanding is the Hybrid is "not" suppose to be seating sensitive due to it's Ogive design. Certain someone with experience with Hybrid and Target will hopefully answer your question.

Re: Impressed with 168gr Bergers Vid

What COAL did you end up with? I tried these. Had to seat very long, load one at a time, wouldn't fit my magazine. Went back to SMKs. I know a lot of folks like these. Guess they're loading one at a time??? I believe the Bs are much better for long range. I use the 175 SMK for long range.

Re: Impressed with 168gr Bergers Vid

I'll edit in my COAL on "My" 7MM 700BDL in a bit. Don't have data with me. One of the 7MM's is a Winchester M70, it won't feed them kissing or even close. The .300 Mag is a Thompson Pro Hunter and it'll take it way long. Everything else so far on all my Remington's have fed with no problem. I'll make sure I give ya Meplat to Head and Ogive to Head. I go by Ogive with a comparator. I suppose I should also say that I only load hunting rounds. Match, Hybrid, Target and so on are not anything I've played with at this point.

boltgunluvr: Here's a little data regarding my OAL Head to Ogive and Head to Mouth using the Hornady Bullet Comparator and Hornady Headspace Gage with Winchester Brass new outta the bag, fire formed, then sized. Head to Meplat I chose not to add due to too much variance in a useless length I believe. I strip my bolt and feel for, then look for, slight resistance on loaded round and bit of scuff on Ogive, do the same for fire formed brass regarding slight crush after sizing and bumping shoulder then size a tad more till I just get past the crush point on shoulder. Plenty room in magazine for this length for my 700BDL 7Mag. I logged a 12 round test and this is what I came up with.

Gun: Model 700 BDL 7MM Remington Magnum
    Brass: Winchester
    Bullet: Berger 168gr Hunting VLD
    Primer: CCI No. 250
    Powder: RL22 62.5grs
Velocity: 2,910 avg @ sea level
Case Length Head to Datum: 4.113 with Comparator
COL Head to Ogive Jammed: 3.714 with Comparator
COL Head to Ogive Touching: 3.710 with Comparator

I found these 12 numbers interesting, if for no other reason, accurate.

Helluva lot more info than requested but thought ya might find it useful and/or interesting. I would have never thought I or this gun could shoot sub MOA at 1K. Kudos to the Hide guys for all their assistance/advice.
