Ingenuity Powder System

Yes, I have two of the RCBS powder droppers and they like to choke on the big kernels and you have to force it to cut one of them or jiggle it back-and-forth every couple of throws which can cause the powder to settle and lead to overcharges if you are close to the target weight. This is the thing that brand Cole the maker of the Prometheus warns you not to do and I have always guessed that he made some modifications to the RCBS one that comes on the Prometheus so that it is better radiused to deal with large stick powders - but that is just a guess. I have likewise assumed that Adam McDonald tweaked the one on the V3 to avoid this problem.

I’m getting close to going that route also. But I figure I’m going to be stupid and expect it to actually start shipping by August. If not I’m definitely going to.
I feel like Charlie Brown kicking the football at this point. Here is my prediction, no shipping by end of July and then a post here from someone who emailed Paul who says end of August (which is how website could be interpreted now - as end of either month) and then nothing in August and the website two weeks into September changes to end of October/November. I hope I’m wrong.

I know this wait sucks but I can’t see that being a good idea. That thing looks slow, overpriced and just not that great. I’d buy a Lee or some other gross dropper and go ahead and get the ip trickler if I was waiting.

I’ll be surprised if the thrower drops this year
That’s what I did a few months back with the Lee. Wish I had my old V3 but it’s better than anything out there (other than this with v3) just a bit of a PIA pulling a lever and optimizing for different powders. I really want the full system though.

So far guys are saying it’s fast and cost $350 without the scale same price as waiting for the IP dropper

From one of my posts, "With 38.5 gr of RL-15, average dispensing time is 8.4 seconds". I don't know if this is fast or slow, or how it compares to other precise & fast automatic powder dispensers (except for the MatchMaster, which is slow), but it's ready for me after I seat a bullet, so it's fast enough and 'faster' would have no benefit.

And you get a free shot glass suitable for Whiskey.

I take that. The shot glass and the time

Anyone got an update?
“The current estimate for the first preorders that started 12-19-23 through about the end of 02-2024 should start going out toward the end of July/Aug 2025. If you preordered after the end of February 2024 then you will be in the second batch of production scheduled to release late summer/fall 2025.”

Yeah, it’s moved out again and end of July is….well, now and that doesn’t seem to be happening.

Got more schedule slips than a government project.

Does emailing them take more than a few days to respond? I asked if they had the IPS v3 upgrade in stock. I don’t know if these upgrades are back logged as well. Or they’re in stock and ready to ship.

I’m curious as to what the delay is. Parts supplier? That’s my only guess. I’m sure he’s more frustrated than anybody. You figure he’s losing sales and has a known income flow stopped by whatever it is. Your grip is just that you don’t have the latest and greatest

I’ll be home in a couple. If it’s not released, I’ll need to go a different route as I’m without anything 🤷🏻‍♂️. I’m not angry or frustrated like some here. If anything, like I said, his income is being affected.

Some of you though need to simmer down. Like watching a brat stomp his feet because mommy didn’t hand him his chicken nuggies fast enough

Most people talking like this are new to the wait. If you had been here two years (and 8 release deadlines) ago waiting you wouldn’t be talking like that

I have been waiting that long. The difference is I'm not acting like a spoiled child wanting my chicken nuggies.

It's called acting like an adult and not a karen

The man has money on the line and you're complaining about a simple inconvenience because you don't have the new toy

Let's put this in perspective for some here that have never been involved with the design, development and production of anything from scratch, that is a high dollar item, & will be scrutinized in videos and written publications and forums.

If he releases it and it isn't 100% perfect and operable, his business & livelihood can be crushed.

All it takes is for one of you to post some hate thread before even giving a company a chance to make it right. Happens all the time.

Not only did he have to design it, have different versions, work out kinks in the raw, but now he needs to contract out the machining more than likely. Being as it is a small and specialized item, his order will not take priority in many shops. Now that shop will give him a sample to assemble and see if everything fits, They still need to go back and refine the cuts and play with tolerances.

Not only this, but think about all the separate components he needs to put this together from different vendors. The chip board, buttons for the keypad, belts, caps, screw, stocking enough filament for his printer. scales, the light, etc etc

Lets say only 100 people ordered it for the sake of easy math.
That's still 100k on a waiting list he has on the line, not to mention the money spent on development already and time (which is priceless).

If you can't wait. order something else. Like I said, if it's not done by October, I will have to because I sold my last dispenser before this trip. But I'll keep my name on the list

Believe me, your inconvenience is his stressful nightmare right now, especially with people emailing him and calling. I'm sure he isn't happy more than any of us

Totally understandable, yet by providing transparent updates he could've avoided lits of scrutiny. People are being kept in the dark and no one knows jack shit about the current status. I will definitely keep my order up for the thrower, yet any update at all would be nice. And I am not talking about a sentence changed on his website without anyone noticing at all. Be up front, be transparent, be honest.

One mans opinion here.
What amount of time does it take to post an update on a website once a week... 5 minutes?
How many customers and possible future customers have been lost by not taking 5 minutes to post said update? I am one of those customers. I paired up an IP trickler (great product!) with my V4. I get drops that are within .02 grain or better (dead nuts on) 99% of the time in the 8-9 second time frame. Needless to say I am completely happy with my combination. With this success rate the IP dropper could be released tomorrow and I would not want to buy one so I am one possible customer lost because the choice was made not to spend 5 minutes a week to provide an update. I have to believe there are others like me and others dropping away as time goes by but as they say...not my circus, not my monkeys.

I understand your point but to counter what I would tell my team sometimes

When I know something, I'll tell you. If I don't say anything, nothing has changed.

Maybe he doesn't have a week to week change. Many businesses are at the mercy of a parts supplier.

We have also seen where a regular update turns into the same situation where a large amount of people will still complain. That's a true statement. There's no winning with sporadic or regular updates. Someone is always going to complain like an ex-wife or baby momma

I'll still stand on this though, some people here need to chilax and realize this is a hobby luxury item. It's not a life depends on it type of thing.

Yeah that doesn’t change that a realistic and informative update takes 5 minutes after blowing through 8 deadlines over 2 years.

No one is asking for week to week update.

have you considered you’re crying like an ex-wife or baby momma on here about peoples frustration??

From my discussion with Paul in mid June a lot has happened. In mid June the only hold up was 3 parts he had to machine in house. Everything else was ready to go.

No, I'm watching a lot of people that clearly were never told no by mommy and daddy though. Maybe you're one?

Edit*****Oh yeah, I scrolled above. Your one, MauryGold

*you’re - learn to spell if you’re going to attempt to insult me.

I just checked. You’re doing more bitching about people than anyone bitching. Maybe you need to be told no - because you’re bitching is entirely non-constructive and you can put your hall monitor vest away because your posts are useless and whiny

Not the spell comeback.

You're an emotionally challenged man child who is online crying because his "Po wittle powder charger is not dewivered yet"

That was my understanding too, that’s why I asked if anyone emailed or called, he’s pretty good at responding or answering - I just don’t want to be the one to bother him this time. Lol. Having talked to him about how the powder dump works, sounds like it’s going to be much better than anything out there as the mechanism for dropping is different than what others use. All that being said - not sure wanting an update on the website or throwing a little humor in here makes someone waiting for two years a Karen (although I have seen some very bratty posts which usually get shut down by the fact that he took no money and you can chose not to buy).

Wanting insight or information doesn't make someone a Karen.
I asked him myself a couple weeks ago

I was referring to the people who complain like it's the end of the world and write negatively

In the end, It is a powder charger for our hobby. I think people forget, it's really just that. When people get emotional and derogatory about it, is what I find ridiculous.

It's something for a hobby

As someone who has experience working on several projects, sometimes you think the end is around the corner, and then something happens.

I'm not making excuses for him. I don't know and none of us know what happened. I'm sure he sees this thread, and is tired of it too. Probably can't wait to ship them out.......until the first glitch gets found 😂 😂 😂

Yeah - I get it. Accurate Shooter is much much worse and that gets shut down pretty quick - especially the ones that say Paul is impossible to reach. The reality is that this thing is going to be so good as a system that he’s going to get sick selling them - I have a hybrid system on a Sartorious (wish I hadn’t sold my v3) and it’s already better and faster than anything I could buy - I think a lot of people are frustrated because they really want one knowing how good it will be - and the updates are just a change in date on the site and I do think that after so long and so many deadline changes, a little more detail is just good customer service. That being said - if someone asks he will respond - I just don’t want to do it 😂😂😂😂

I wanted it to be done so bad, I sold my poweder measurer. Now I have nothing, contemplating what to buy or hold out.

I saw F Class John's vid, and I honestly think for the price point, it's gonna be Sold Out everywhere for a very long time
