Ingenuity Powder System

I'm pretty sure it won't be faster at dropping - maybe 1 second per throw if it is a little more consistent than the v3 since you can get it closer to final. The biggest advantage will likely be in switching powders and the 2-4 minutes it takes to play with the throw setting on the V3 gross throw. I'm conflicted on whether ill get the thrower or not
Honestly even with my manual set up that’s one of the big reasons why I’m getting the dropper - doesn’t take a long time but the switching powders is a bit of a PIA and for me add manual throws so it makes sense. Like I said - it’s definitely not speed. We are way past that. I’m the bottleneck at this point.

some here that have never been involved with the design, development and production of anything from scratch, that is a high dollar item, & will be scrutinized in videos and written publications and forums.
Hey pal....you aren't the only one here who has ever managed the development of a product thru to production. I certainly have as a Program Manager for products a hell of a lot more complex and technically challenging and with far more demanding customers.

Yeah, schedule slips happen. Its what the vendor does in those situations that make the difference. Have a schedule slip, then explain to the customers the underlying reason, what the new schedule is, and what you are doing to ensure that the new schedule is solid and achievable. Paul's main issue...aside from apparently not having a good grasp on schedule and risk control...is his absolutely abysmal communications over the past couple of years.

Oh...while I'm at it...take your arrogant personal insults and shove them up your ass.

I don’t even need to respond. You proved my point

I know I asked some time ago if the trickler works with powders like H110, and at the time it didn't. Something about the kernels getting under the disc and jamming I think. Could be wrong.

Has that changed? I'm fine with manual bulk dropping, but I am looking for some sort of auto trickler that works alone with an FX120i.

Autotrickler v4 works great with h110 and other fine powders. If you add an IP trickler to the AT v4 you can have the best of both worlds. Use the V4 as designed running both the large and small tubes with the fine powders that will jamb up the IP. Then isolate the small tube, connect the IP trickler for use with the larger ball and extruded powders

I keep thinking of going this direction. I need to get in touch with Paul and make sure the v4 will work with his new electronics. I emailed him and he said yes but the manual doesn’t mention being able to use it.
The Autotrickler electronics and software work fine with my setup. You can make things easier switching from one mode to the other if you get the extension cable from IP site for the V4. There's a video showing how to do this but I can't remember who posted it. I just found it. Check fclass john

acting like a spoiled child wanting my chicken nuggies.
I understand that shit happens and not everything goes according to plan. It’s called life and I just moved on. I mostly monitor this thread for entertainment purposes now. I have no dog in this fight since I gave up on this a while back but Lord help the man/woman/child/wild animal/mythical creature who gets between me and my chicken nuggies. Especially if they are dino nuggies.

OK, I am on the cusp of ordering one of these printed precision. The maker has an exact timeline of his new PCB boards on his website which got held up because of tariffs and are now expected to get in at the beginning of the third week of August.

What are the odds that ingenuity is going to be released by the end of this month without additional delays? My own estimate is about five to one odds that it will not be released by the end of the month and there will be an additional delay, but I’m interested in what others think

For those not into odds, that means I’m putting the breakeven point at about 80% that it is not released by the end of August. If it’s that level or higher Im buying printed precision

Why not just buy the IP trickler setup and a cheap gross powder dispenser? The few video out seem pretty good for the printed but I am still skeptical of the long-term on it.

here's a pretty good article on the accuracy of the cheaper gross dispensers.

No, I have V4.

I had a V2, and it sucks. It is nothing like the V3

And last I heard Paul quit selling the electronics and the trickier by themselves
Just guessing, but it could mean that he is close to complete orders if he doesn’t sell the trickler and electronics by themselves anymore.
Why don’t you just give him a call?

Yeah, I looked at the website and he does not offer the electronics on there. I have been through this hassle before and I’m sorry I’m not calling Paul and having a 30 minute conversation about it if he wants to sell us the stuff he should just put it on his website. So I’m back to my original choice. Continue to wait or get the printed precision.

it's a no obligation preorder. Just do that and buy the trickler now, which he seems to be willing to do. If you need a stand to run it on your v4, just reach out to me - I have one I'm not using it since I think Paul may have stopped producing those.

Get the printed precision lol there is no telling if this will ever come out and if it does what happens if something goes wrong how long will the wait be for parts ect. Let us know how the printed precision runs looks very interesting

That’s what I did. I was one of the lucky few who got the PP in the first wave. It works pretty well. Some minor issues that mostly turned out to be user error, but I’m pretty happy with it. IF the IP ever comes out I will might switch over to that since the PP can’t do ball powders. But that is a big IF.

I’m about to pull the trigger on 2 IPM V3 upgrade. But want to know if it’s easy and to empty powder out of the trickler when done use.

Paul has already stated that a number of ball powders wont work with the IP trickler either. It all depends on the size of the spheres, but they can jam up the trickler disk.

Heard from Paul - gotta give him credit for promptly responding to emails - anyways he says first batch end of August - which is technically what the site says depending on your interpretation - although I read it as end of July beginning of August. I guess we will know in two-three weeks.

Paul doesn’t revise his dates till he’s passed them,
And really that's the crux of the matter. Either through embarassment, highly busy, uncertain of the next issue, etc. So confidence in announcements dissapates.
I liked the look of the IP system, and the clever drop-instead-of-rotating-measure mechanism. The touted price was a bit high... but ill-communicated changing timelines put me off completely some time ago.
So I kept using a MatchMaster and recently went with another system.
But I am - truly - hoping all the people waiting receive a good product that performs as advertised.

OK, so we’re basically in the middle of August now. My 80% estimate that it will not be released by the end of the month is going up to 90%. I would think that if it were truly being released in the next couple of weeks, there would be a message saying we are assembling final parts and packing the things now, or that there would be some more YouTube videos posted as production units slip out into a select, few hands. But the silence is deafening.
