The way around sanctions is to abandon USD/Euro trade and start divesting from US debt and trade starts with oil and gas. As long as sactions were mostly against tiny countries like Cuba , North Korea,Sudan etc non players these things kinda went along , but once sanctions began to be aplied broadly all over the place , alternative systems to circumvent them began development , Iran probably being the biggest and most agressive innovator,but with Russian and China added to the pot the critical mass has been reached.
USD is here to stay as a reserve currency but dominance will be greatly eroded as more and more trade is done in other currencies and less debt is being bought as countries try to sanction-proof their economies.BRICS and SCO are at the moment very attractive.
