Will be purchasing first reloading set-up in the near future. Willing to "buy once cry once" and get an upgraded press at the get go. Leaning towards a co-ax as I will only be loading moderate amounts of .308 match w/ competition dies. Is there any way to get all the other starting equipment (Beam Scale, powder measure, trays, trickler, trimmer ect.) as a package without a press? I'd like the package savings, but not have to deal with selling a press just to get started. Any references?

Re: Is there a starter kit w/o press?

Redding has released a Versa-Pak kit that is everything but the press... They did this exactly for the reasons you are listing.

We are offering a Redding GB down in the GB section if you are interested fire off an email to s and we will get you setup with pricing and feel free to give me a ring with any questions regarding Redding products.

Cheers,

Adam

Be sure that the contents for a supplemental kit represent a saving. For me, a kit represents poor value for the accessories provided. There are better options available. The other part is that you may not want everything furnished; you're paying for pieces you may not need. Further, of that equipment that is provided, how much of it would be your first choice? The RCBS RockChucker kit is a great deal, but I don't want that press. The Redding line provides a very good press, scale and trickler; I just don't see good value at the asking price. The supplemental kits present real question.

Then buy the RCBS kit and sell me the press cheap because I don't want the other things. I prefer an electronic scale setup so for me all I really want from the kit is the press, primer tool, funnel & press. The rest would be paying for stuff I don't want/need. That's what's hard about kits, they don't fit everyone and most will pay for stuff they don't want or need.
