JMK Bora 12 Sniper Rifle barrel twist rate?

Hi,

IIRC they are a 10 twist. Pretty much the entire rifle industry in Turkey utilizes the 10 twist 4 groove barrel setup because they pretty much all get barrels from same 2 companies there.

FWIW...IF you actually have one and purchased it used or such; you may want to contact the Factory and check the serial number because they have a pretty good reward (last time I checked) for the one stolen from the 2015/16 trade show.

Sincerely,
Theis

Wow thanks for responding and for that cool bit of info on the reward. I do not have one, nor have i ever used or seen one, but I was recently asked to make a recommendation for a subsonic bullet weight for that rifle. Ill keep my eyes open for the stolen rifle!

I figured it would be 10 twist, but I was hoping for something faster so I could go with a 220gr or so. Thanks.

I do have the NSN: 1305-27-034-3975

that appears to be the rifle I am looking for. Ill take a close look at the post and see if they mention the NSN.

Why make a 7.62 with a 1:12 4 groove twist?

I guess also, why put a section of pic rail on your muzzle brake?

The Marines have been running a 12 twist since the M40A1, it will stabilize the 175's just fine. In regards to the pic rail on the muzzle device, that was answered here:
Similar to the KNT-76 Designated Marksman Rifle, the Bora-12 had a 3E EOS Keskin 3-12×50 scopemounted to the optic rail. It has room for a backup iron rear sight, in addition to a very peculiar Picatinny rail machined directly into the compensator that is intended for a backup iron front sight. Also similar to the KNT-76, right now MKE is the sole producer of the JMK Bora-12 instead of Kales and Sarsilmaz being awarded contracts for production. This is no surprise due to the relative size of the Bora-12 production run compared to the MPT-76 rifles.
