Pretty happy with everything. I do have one question about the fit of the Hellfire brake, shown in pic below.

Build Components
DPMS LR-308 Lower - (will be selling the 24” Bull Barrel Upper soon)
Fulton Armory FAR-308 side charging upper
Fulton Armory side cocking BCG
Criterion 18” 308 barrel
JP MK3 15.5” handguard
Magpul UBR 2.0 stock
VLTOR A5 buffer
Tubb Flatwire recoil spring
Giessele SSA Trigger
Superlative Arms 0.936 Adjustable gas block
Area 419 Hellfire brake - is it normal to have this gap between the brake and muzzle?

You need a crush washer on there. Looks like you just threaded it on.

No need for shims or crush washer with that design of brake. I would expect Criterion to have a relief cut in the threading at the barrel? Can we get a closer look with the brake off?

Simply torque the universal adapter onto your barrel with a 5/8″ wrench, this piece never has to come off. Next, LEFT HAND thread the brake/collar assembly onto the adapter until it is almost snug. Now rotate the brake until it is level, push the brake into the adapter and you will feel it lock onto the taper. Now tighten the collar fully by hand, and you are done!

This is exactly how I installed it. I’ve spoken to Area 419 and they asked for measurements of the barrel threads. It seems their Hellfire brake adapter can accept up to 0.650“ of threads. My Criterion barrel has close to 0.700”. So it is what it is, a small .050” gap. The adapter and brake are installed solidly and will not affect shooting at all. So I’ll just have to decide whether to live with it until I need to re-barrel or sell the brake and find something else.

I would still buy a spacer kit and close up the gap.
