My wife talked me into running a half marathon with her this morning. I feel like sh*t scraped off my boot coming out of the pasture LOL. It was the Armadillo Dash here in Bryan/College Station. I have been running pretty regularly over the last year, but not to 13.1 miles. My farthest run has been 10.5 miles 3 weeks ago. Since that time, I have been going to the gym and taking a break from the road. I wasn't planning on running it, but she sweet talked me into it. I'm glad I did it (1:50:00, 8:24 pace, 2005 calories burned), but be advised to not take one of these things too lightly.

I had considered training up for the full marathon in San Antonio this fall, but I think I will reconsider...

Re: Just ran a half Marathon...

Good job! That's a great pace for a half, well done. If you can do a half then you can do a full with a little more training, just slow down a little and find a pain you can endure for 4 hours.

Congrats!!

Re: Just ran a half Marathon...

Thanks Jason. I need at least a week for my brain to forget how my body/left knee feel right now.

After mile 10 I had to slow down, due to my left knee hurting. I guess running 10 miles on the right shoulder of the road isn't good for you. I guess the slope caused the outside of my left knee (the high side), to take more abuse.

Re: Just ran a half Marathon...

Congrats Super!

By the way I am enjoying the Turbo. I quickly worked up a load using your 105 AMAX bullets over 28.9 grains of H4895 as I didn't have any REL-15. I used CCI mag primers.

I used it at Kurt's tac match in Las Vegas yesterday and the rifle performed well. I finished in the upper half, but if I had not made a couple of stupid mistakes I would have been in the top third. Also I was using a 8x scope which was a hindrance.

Thanks again!

Thanks Dirk.

I'm glad you are enjoying it. It is a great shooting upper, just long in length for my needs.

I have thrown a few hundred points out at different matches due to operator mental error as well.

Re: Just ran a half Marathon...

That's great ! I envy you... I don't think I'd make 2 miles anymore. Duty injured knees and back healed well 20+ years ago... but have become progressively problematic since age 40. Not a day they don't hurt now...

Running was really never my bag. I used to road and mountain bike avidly. In my prime I did a 24 mile loop every other day on my bike.

Overall feel back to normal this morning, except my left knee. It does feel a little better than it did last night.

I'll keep running, but to do another 1/2 or even a full - not sure.

I would think that road biking would be low impact, your knees must be in bad shape. Sorry to hear it. I get grumpy when I can't get out and do something.

I like to run because I can get the most workout/calorie burn in the shortest amount of time. Kids and a traveling wife restrict my time.

I did get my Mountain bike back from the shop the other day, it had a chronic brake problem. I'll probably get it out in the next few days to give knees a rest.

Any tips from a pro?
