Night Vision Let's see your NV gear and kill pics

Re: Let's see your NV gear and kill pics

My graduate degrees in molecular virology are not going to make it now that he's graduated from the Ivy League Predator University with a newly minted PhD (Predator Hunting Degree).

I may have to resort to dipping my hand-loaded Barnes bullets into a vial of virulent pathogenic canine distemper virus so I can take out a dozen 'yotes with each shot......

Makin dirt angels

Me and my buddy Ross headed south last night. Huskey and Seth put us on the hogs. We saw five. Here's four of them. There should be a pic of a coyote too, but I'll hafta make up a good excuse for missing that one.

Our new PVS-14's from Frankie go great with the D-740's in the peanut fields.

Frankie: Thanks for the great deal on the PVS14s and laser.
Seth: Great spotting and shooting.
Huskey: You really make this easy. Excellent spotting. Golf cart. Ready to go as soon as we arrive w/ no delays in getting in the field. Thanks for the hunt. I had a great time.

We can't have you walking into trees now, I know you don't hit any limbs

your pvs14 should be in your hands Saturday !

I got to get down there so chase has someone to play with ..

Re: Let's see your NV gear and kill pics

50 plus hogs in 3 nights. approx 40 confirmed "stepped On" kills.
One field we ran dry on the rifles then switched to pistol, Got one more .40 s&w kill. Hogs can't jump fences so they flanked back to us.

Piglets got to see some shotgun action.

These hogs were decently fed....then they were decently shot.

Please do not open a door that you cannot close. I am a lyrical wordsmith and will chop you down to tears and fetal babblings. Problem is I take it too far and then others (witnesses) will take your side, as I will be the cruel one even though you started the childish attempt @ knocking me down.

You will twitter and facebook, updating your wall @ how frustrated you are, trying to gain minions to go along with your disdain for your new found foe. You will lie awake @ night after another failed attempt @ an erection, failing to due your part behind closed doors. I will be in your head and viagra will become a necessity. A UNIC on a path of self destruction, a slight percentage of the man you used to be.

Those that now look up to you will now want to get to know me, hang with me, be like me. I will gladly bring them in close as I am a worldly man. Another way to bring you to the brink.

Secretly you will become an admirer of all that is me, all the while spitting vicious short sided playground attacks at my internet reputation. Trying to gain others like you to belittle me.

Night vision sales will plummet as all your time will be expended trying to find ways to recover from the beat downs that I will unleash on you. You will print one of the hog hunt pics of me and place it on a dart board, thanking me for placing the black bar over my eyes because the thought of my stare would make you mud your underoo grippies.

In the end, you will beg for my mercy, beg for my reassurance that all my attacks were in jest, and that the words I typed were falsehoods and untrue. As this will be the breaking point when you become so unsure of yourself, you will begin to believe that my lyrical sword slashes are real.

I will agree to your truce in your weakened state, bring you closer, pardon your failure. Build you back up with compliments, allow you to recover, pick up your munitions from the battle field and return home.

Soon, you will become restless once again. Going through the what ifs.. You will be in a cloud of disbelief that a man of shorter stature could be so strong but yet so forgiving.

You will rebuild another strong but short sided arsenal, and pack of minions. Down the roller coaster freefall you will once again find yourself. Hopeless, looking around for agreement and reassurance from your peers.

Again, you will see them looking down, shaking their heads with looks of disappointment, embarrassed to be on your side. Wishing they had not taken the good deal on NV as an incentive to join you in your fight.

There I will stand once again, Sword sheathed, stained with UNIC fluids, waving you into my body armor to cry once more and assure you my typings were in jest. Accept your apology I will.

As I am a worldly man. Forgive you I will.

6.8 shooting 95 TTSX handload, topped with Gen 3 hand-select D-740. This pig was DRT. Ops Core Base Jump, Wilcox mount, NE PVS-14, Surefire M1IR on the helmet.

We killed 4 that night. We are up over 175 pigs this year....come on out to WRR, hog hunting is especially good this year.

This is a rifle I built that has proven to be very effective. I am shooting 77gr Black hills out of it and it loves it.

Frankie's Night vision PVS 14 units are stunning.

Re: Let's see your NV gear and kill pics

Here is a two minute 5MB WMV video I made tonight with the FLIR T-50 of a sounder group that was in a pond surrounded by a tall stand of dog fennels and weeds, I had to wait patiently for two hours to get a good shot.

Thank God for my ThermaCell as the skeets were trying to eat me alive.

Took out one of the sows with a hand-loaded Barnes 70 grain TSX from my SIG 556 using the Eotech 552 and 3X Magnifier @ 80 yards,

The 325 pound sow goes down with the first shot and stays down, but I shot her once more for insurance since she was in two feet of muck. I was up to my knees in mud hooking up the tow line from the ATV to get her out of there.

The FLIR T-50 that Vic from TNVC sold me is a solid instrument the definitely brings home da bacon....

I was all by myself and it was late at night on Friday after work, I had a difficult enough time wading out to the downed sow in knee deep muck to attach a tow rope to pull her out with the 4WD ATV, mud flying everywhere.

I had to string her up and dress her out in the barn so did not get to bed until late. Also, the freezer is totally full and will have to give out some hams, shoulders, loins, etc to make room for future kills.

Shooting multiple hogs would have been too much work for me and I would have had to leave the carcasses for the coyotes and buzzards.

Now, when the freezer has more room, my buddies are over with our Thermal & NV gear, and I have more time, we will go <span style="font-weight: bold">TOTAL ZOMBIE</span> on those hogs!
laugh.gif

Those hogs will be back and I will get them when I am good and ready.

It is super easy for multiple kills and follow up shots with the thermals, they virtually have no way to escape besides outrunning a 3,000fps round....
grin.gif

The reason the freezer is full is I stuffed this huge boar into it earlier this week:

Sorry, first attempt at posting a pic in a thread. Looks like I screwed it up. Been lurking around for a couple of years. Just dont post much. I got in in the picture section allright.

Re: Let's see your NV gear and kill pics

This is our FEMUR 10 oz. Titanium Suppressor. Performs excellent on a .223 AR as well. Rated for 300 wm.

Well balanced vs. heavier suppressors out on the end. Rifle is a hammer. Whatever is behind the red dot gets smacked.

Re: Let's see your NV gear and kill pics

This big boar was shot Saturday night with a Noveske 6.8 rifle wearing a FLIR T-60 in front of a Zeiss 4.5-14 X 50 scope (T-60 was sent by SPI for T & E). Range was about 110 yards, and the bullet was SSA factory Barnes 110 TSX, from the 6.8. I will be writing up a review on the T-60 this week.

Also wearing Ops Core Base Jump, and NE-PVS-14 Gen 3 from TNVC, Wilcox mount and FLIR M24 on the HELGA.

Here's the kit: Noveske 16" 6.8 wearing Zeiss / FLIR T-60, with WC Whisper can. S & W MP 15-22 ( my new coon / skunk killer) with the new Streamlight TLR Ex1 series light, and Eotech, Primary Arms 3 X magnifier. SIlencerCo Sparrow, Form 4 FINALLY came in! Love that little can.

LOL, very nice swine!

Will enjoy your review of the FLIR thermal too and how well it works with your scope...looks like you have the max furniture on your rail now!

I have mine setup with an nice little ACOG 4X32 LED and it is just perfect for our hog and 'yotes!

Re: Let's see your NV gear and kill pics

A couple nights ago we had a great hunt. The corn field that we hunt was harvested and it always becomes a target rich environment. We were not able to hunt all night as usual but did good with 18 confirmed kills. Gear used- ANVIS 9 and PVS-14 helmet mounted with IR lasers for the close shots. Longer shots were taken with a PVS-24 in front of an ACOG and a PVS-14 w/3x mag behind an EOTech. Rifles were both 6.8, 12.5" and suppressed. One was taken with a bolt gun and CNVD-LR at just under 400 yds and 2 others taken with the suppressed LR308 w/Aquila 6X. Spotting was done with the W1000. Even though it was almost 90 degrees the W1000 could still pick up the hogs out to 900 yds.

Re: Let's see your NV gear and kill pics

I went out after we cut a corn field last night and got 6 piggies....the pic is of a huge sow in the bunch. Don't know what she weighed but I bet she ate more than her fair share of my corn!
79b3f803.jpg

And, as embarrassing as this is to say, on my way home I went around a blind corner and plowed into another herd of pigs and killed 3 more with my bumper.....I guess the hogs have declared war on me....they're sending out their suicide bombers!

Re: Let's see your NV gear and kill pics

Man it is great when you nail a mixed bag like that!

Nice night hunting rifle rig too!

Bet it was hard to concentrate with the skeetos....

Re: Let's see your NV gear and kill pics

Awesome mixed bag, Phil!!

Here's another D-740 kill:

Coyote head shot at 275 yards, using D-740, with Pinnacle Gen 3 autogated tube. Yep, after more than 4 years, I'd say its holding zero
smile.gif

WRR-built 12" 6.8 SBR using the new prototype Cutting Edge 80 grain bullet. 3000 FPS from the 12" barrel, flat trajectory, way sub-MOA. Great optics make this whole thing work.

Re: Let's see your NV gear and kill pics

Last night was an eventful hunt. The W-1000 was working great as always and the pigs just couldn't hide. All of us here at Ident Marking have been hunting this harvested corn field for the past 2 weeks and in that time we are up to 53 confirmed. We were hunting with helmet mounted ANVIS 9's, PVS-15's and PVS-14's. Weapon mounted we had PVS-24's, PVS-14's w/3x magnifiers, Atilla's and PEQ-15's. All of us were shooting SBR and suppressed 6.8's. That is normal for us but here is where we spiced it up a little.
DSC01034.jpg

DSC01037.jpg

That's right!! Full auto and suppressed RPD

DSC01038.jpg

We ended up with 12 pigs for the night but we only saw 12!!!! The sounder of 4 were the only ones to experience the RPD(rapid pig destroyer)
