I have spent many hours researching this on the internet, and am hoping some SH members could give some good advice.
I am looking for an accurate and super reliable 1911 in 9mm. Would like it to be somewhat lightweight, as in 30 oz. or so. Barrel length about 4" to 4.5" would be best.

As for price, probably in the $1k to $3k range, but I am somewhat flexible.
Any recommendations? Right now I am thinking that the Wilson Combat Spec-Ops 9 would work well.

I will take a look at these, thanks for the input. Somehow my heart says Wilson Combat CQB, despite not being exactly what my specs were.

A reliable, accurate, commander-sized, 9mm 1911 - perhaps the holy grail of 1911s! I have a full-size, 9mm Les Baer PMII that is one of my favorite pistols (the other being my full-size, .45 Baer PMII). The 9mm has performed fantastically and is an utter joy to shoot. As a result, I've often thought that a commander sized 9mm 1911 would make for a great carry gun. STI, Dan Wesson, Wilson Combat . . . all great brands. Best of luck with your search and please report back when you find something. I am heading down that path as well and will be curious what you find.

I ended up buying the Wilson Combat CQB, mostly because it seemed to be such an excellent all-around pistol. I expect to buy a Spec-Ops 9 later for more of a concealed weapon. However, for now, one Wilson Combat at a time...
