I'm probably getting a Ruger MKIII 22 handgun. I'll probably get the model with just the picatinny raid and threaded barrel since I'm waiting on my Sparrow approval. I have a MP22 for shooting suppressed with open sights and thought I'd enjoy one with a red dot reflex sight. I'm leaning towards the Deltapoint from Leupold. I'd probably go with the 7.5 dot and use the top for precise shot placement and the whole dot for faster shooting at steel, etc.

Has anyone used one of these before I order it? Looking for opinions on either the 3.5 dot or the 7.5 deltapoint as well as how clear the dot appears.

Thanks for any help,

Alan

i dont have any info on the delta point but i have a primary arms red dot on my mark iii. heres a photo of it. i actually am selling it to get more of a reflex sight. also wanting to get a m&p pro core so i can have a reflex sight on that!! btw if you want a light gun after having the red dot and silencer on there check out the ruger 22/45 lite. love mine

Forget the Deltapoint and buy the RMR I have for sale on here... :p . In all seriousness though, when I was shopping for a reflex sight I looked at the Leupys, and they seemed to have a reputation for not being very rugged at that time. You might see if that sentiment still exists.

I've used one for about a year now on a full size XD45, it's held up fine and holds its zero. A bit more flare than I would like compared to my Dr. optic but very useable and no real complaints.

I think I'll probably go with the Deltapoint. I was looking at some reviews on different sites, and some users reported having a slight washout/fuzzy sight picture. That's about my only concern.
