going on all around this country! Where it will led if anywhere is anyone's guess. So have you truthfully ask yourself the what if questions? Security, Food, Water, an Fuel are first an foremost, but what about Life meds, first aid/trauma kits? Have you even thought about all the things you take for granted like, electric, bath/laundry soap, tooth paste, ass wipe, let alone your other family members needs?
Sad to say but I believe city folks are going to be in for a ride. Remember when trucks stop running life support/comfort an snivel items dry up real quick. Ask anyone that's been thru a Hurricane or worse. If the whole country is involved where is your help coming from?

I think we're good on the basics. I hope. Farm and back a long lane.
Have the Meds and even antibiotics taken care of.
Although on the fuel part, even with stabilizer, there is still a time it goes bad so on that, my answer is depends on how long it or perhaps I last.

And I agree, city folks generally with a few exceptions, and cities will not be a good place.

eh, ill just go take what i need from bubba-joe prepper and his 4yr stash of food and crate of mosins.....

skillset is key.....if you know how to filter water, make a fire, and hunt for food.....you can do pretty well for a long while.

as far as fuel.....Home heating oil is essentially dyed Diesel fuel....steal a diesel if you dont have one, and steal heating oil from your neighbors, and presto.....instant transportation.

the sides will separate like Italian salad dressing, just like the last time, prepping only works for nuke war, and until Trump loans me his big red button you pusswads dont have anything to worry about that. You will only need a few weeks or months of supplies, except ammo, you need 3 major engagements worth. The American side will organize pretty quick, we have a sense of actual community. The so called community organizers will be at each others throats as soon as the ebt cards stop working, they will break into interest groups. we will swoop in and extinguish their vile evil miserable lives, all of them and do a Sherman on every city they inhabit..

The lower the population density, the better off you will be to some extent.

Knowing the basics of getting water and growing your own food is key. Hunting experience is also important. City dwellers have it very bad for these reasons. They lack the skill and the preparedness to handle any disruption. Can you imagine living in any large population center that loses power for a week. Imagine living in Chicago or St. Louis with no food or electricity.

Proficiency of basic skills, preparedness and the willingness to do what you need to do will separate the living from the desperate

People get shot or worst for stealing around here, but alas if you own a diesel your fuel supply is right above your head. Plastic sheeting in a funnel shape into a 7 + gallon bucket/container under a std pole mounted transformer. 22lr w/can one hole dead in bottom, then quickly another right at the top rim to allow air in an transformer to drain all the way down quickly. Today's transformer oil will burn in most all diesels. You can mix in used engine oil that has been filtered threw a roll of ass wipe an add BTU content to the transformer oil, as well. Just make sure the line is dead before shooting the transformer, if it's still hot just shoot the jack (fuse)on the pole to kill power first. Many ways to skin a cat. Diesel fuel will live for 10+ years if treated properly. Gasoline will live for a long time as well when treated properly an a few paint mix chems are added. Remember it's flash point, BTU can be added via lots of liquids in gas engines. Wood gas an steam will make a quick come back.

and im sure thatll work great...until things start to get desperate...and neighbor Bill decides AJ has a lot of nice stuff and he could use some of it...and AJ might even be willing to part with some stuff at first....until AJ starts to run low and cant help anymore...then Bill gets angry his supply's are low and decides to take it by force.

in a situation without law....you stay alive as long as you are useful, or as long as you can defend yourself......no one will be "your friend".....peoples stomachs come before their loyalties to anyone else......rest assured there will be break down among those you consider closest.....they will turn on you, and you will turn on them.......best to prepare for that possibility.

Watching a Vietnam documentary and there is a strong resemblance of how divided we were with violence and demonstrations. Hear on the radio that even some of the dem’s are starting to say they need to pull back before someone gets hurt. Turning on each other would be devastating for sure but my larger fear would be our enemies capitalizing on the opening it would provide. Two weeks with disruption of services and it would be dog eat dog and what better time would there be.......

probably one of the worst times honestly....

the one thing that would get americans to stop killing eachother for supplies would be the chance to kill some commie fuck for his......

an invading army comes with a lot of nice gear.....trucks, weapons, clothing, medicine, food, fuel, shelter........rather than kill my neighbor for his canned peaches and red ryder bb gun......i can go kill some commies for a stash of MREs and a nice AK.

I doubt they will, as they have family's to protect as well. When people start down their lists, others will get the message real quick an rethink whats in the their best interest.
It's all fun an games when you know your family's being protected an you can go an play in your elected rags. However when shit starts getting close to home the mind starts to wonder.

One of the threats that has to be seriously planned for is the people who think that it's fine to go around killing & stealing from their neighbors & any other random people to get what they need. It's unclear, but apparently it is possible some in this thread are alluding to that possibly being their plan.

That's why you need a group of people you can trust to deal with those that think killing and robbing is the way to live. Those not afraid to go hungry, but still all fight together and care for each other. Plenty of tight groups have faced hard times & hunger together & worked cohesively to survive better as a group rather than trying each for his own.

This is also why you may not be able to "escape" or travel much, too many people turning evil & going to killing / robbing anyone they see.
Too many self styled "Militias" don't actually want freedom, they just want to be the local brutal gun toting warlords over their local serfdom.
Too many "Freedom minded" people want freedom from rules so they can do as they want without consequences but have no idea how to live in a truly free society and prosper.

Some of us plan to build a free, better more just world as quickly as possible, the problem is we might be in the minority.

I don't think it's that. I think it's the admission that if your family is starving all other concerns become secondary.

Laws and being a nation of laws are what provides liberty. I think most people who share your sentiment understand that. I see no real distinction between the person who wants to be a totalitarian warlord, and the one who wants to write so many laws everyone is a criminal. Both want unrestricted power. The one is simply a coward and the other is not.

I think many are on the same page.
Want to be War lords are everywhere but I don't see that as anything other than a opportunity to re-educate them about what this country was about from day one. The only reason todays war lords get away with want they do is because people like us obey laws. When the ROL is out the window you will see a side of true Americans only a select few have ever known. Kill the target, no high 5's or talking, this type will just move on to the next target. Plan the op, execute the op, an move on until there are no more targets within your A/O, state, or country.
Those who think their going to steal their way threw will get a education real quick, as to many folks in this country know the drills to prevent such w/o breaking a sweat.

There will be clans and war lords. Good one and bad ones. The good ones will be happy to see the Mil come in and restore law. The bad ones cannon fodder.

Get your intel now. Like many people know where the big grocery warehouses are. But few know where the institutional foodservice companies warehouse their stuff.

While some battle for the obvious and the known. You want to be one of the few battling the few. You may not have to battle. Less people mean there is more to go around.

You should have plans ABC & D. A little what if thought now will put you ahead of the game. Don’t want it to happen but I have thought “What If”. JMHO

PS the gangs will form so they have the armed people in numbers to go and take from the weak.

Indians had a good method with fire, be it body's or animals. Today's world, it would be earth moving equipment an charcoal pits, if you have no lime stocked up. The coals from all wood fires go into a pit, slice open the gut an dump the body face down on to the coals, cover with dirt, the coals will do the hard work. Keep the pits 200-250ft away from any potable water source. In very rocky ground line the pit bottom with 2 feet of sand so as to slow the percolation down.

Humanity, morals, civility.... those are luxuries we enjoy from not starving....

Like I said, in a WROL scenario... you live as long as you serve a purpose... or as long as you can defend yourself.... because someone will ALWAYS come along trying to take what you have.

Your family is starving, haven’t eaten a good meal in 3 weeks...but your neighbor has plenty of food....You ARE going to take their resources by force..... it’ll make you a shitty human.... but it’ll make you a great father and husband......

You’ll justify it by remembering all the times your neighbor never returned your tools.... or had late noisy parties..... you’ll grow to hate him.... making taking his reaources even easier....

And you know what.... he’s going to be doing the exact same thing

I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know..... just telling you truths we don’t want to hear

You're bigger problem (for most) isn't gear or preps.

You're bigger problem is vetting of unknowns, and not over / under reacting.

You'd be wise now to start making a list of all the organizations (non profits) and groups (they will have a web presence) as well as leaders of these organizations and groups operating in your State / and in your community. You should collect photos and bios of the most prominent members, look their names up and begin to understand familial connections. Know the voting record and mentality of community leaders - record them. Look up your neighbor's political contribution history. Know who your talking to.

Compassion and grace - many of these people really do have their head up their ass, but they are salvageable.

A bright line / line of demarcation is coming - those who choose to stay on the other side need to be identifiable, and locatable.

The odds of things getting sporty in heavy blue areas - likely pretty good.

200 miles into Red country - not so much.


IMHO


ETA - in thinking about what is most likely for me - Portland OR / Eugene OR will likely see the worst of it. What I expect is more IRA style conflict - arson, bombings, kidnappings, cars as weapons, bio attacks - small unit stuff. I do not see a group seizing ground and taking over. I see a heightened requirement of being able to solve it on your own, in the moment. I see a need to be cautious about whom you lend help to, and who you encourage to move along.

I strongly encourage everyone to be respectful to all, and believe that this will all work out; but understanding that the run up to November is going to be ugly, and then when the arrests begin - it is going to get really whacky. 12 - 24 months from now - things will be much better.
