It’s a great scope. I still really like it and expect to be pleased with it for years once it comes back from them. Other than the dial not lining up perfectly
Mark 4hd tracking issue

If my dials aren't straight it's going to bug the hell out of my OCD.
Plan is to get two, as they're going on my Heckler & Koch MR762s. Will gladly collaborate on reportings once I have it. I'm upgrading from EOTech VuDu 3.5-18x H59s so, will be interesting to compare their Japanese glass to Leupolds in-house glass.
Can’t give you a comparison of the glass between those two but I do like the mark4 had glass. The issue is everyone that I’ve seen the line doesn’t match up on and that’s irritating at first but I kinda let it go. If anyone else reading this has mark4 hds let us know if your turrets line up with the line on the scope body
Mine match up sample size of 2 scopes. So far pretty impressed with them. I let a friend take my 2.5 10 to see if he liked it for his purposes and now he wants to keep it said it took him to much time to level it.
Top of the turrets aren’t level. I leveled the pic rails then locked it down and leveled with a straight edge off the bottom of the scope and had good luck with that method
Ok guys here’s the roughly 3weeks after shipping the scope they called to let me know that they scrapped that one and sent out a brand new one. Very quick and impressive customer service. Thank you Leupold

I had mine for all of 2 days. I REALLY liked the scope. But I couldn't stand the PR2-MIL reticle. That's the only reason I returned mine. If they ever offered a Horus reticle in their MK4 line, I'd get one again.
Leupold was great with customer service for me in the past as well. I just had a lot of issues with the Mark5 line and swore I’d not buy one again. They replaced my 1st Mark5 5-25 due to tracking issues, the replacement had the dreaded turret misalignment and needed to go back for a new turret so I requested a refund. Later I bought a 3-18 mark 5 and the CA was so bad (it was winter and it was incredibly distracting for me). I ended up selling it and swearing off the brand.
When was this? Because there are two revisions of the MK5HD. The post-2023 revB MK5HDs I've not found any issues with.
Yes, before that time period. 2019-2020 I believe. I’d have to look back at old photos to know for sure.
Then, I'm not surprised by your assessment. No one liked the Rev.As when the MK5HD first came out. They since went from a single erector spring to a dual (opposing) spring system which makes tracking much more consistent (and means you don't need to dial past, then dial back, as others have previously done).
Leupold should have put out a recall notice. But anyone who has a Rev.A currently who ends up getting work done to it, will have theirs upgraded to a Rev.B automatically.
I have two Rev.Bs purchased in 2024, MK5HD 5-25 and 7-35. They've been wonderful and flawless.
