Just got this to try after both my other barrel vise solutions wouldn't hold the barrel to remove an especially stubborn muzzle brake on a smooth heavy barrel. In a word ... it is AWESOME. The overall design and leather inserts held flawlessly as I torqued the crap out of this barrel and got the brake removed, and did it without a mark of any kind on the barrel. Unsolicited praise for a terrific product.
