When we first got into it, we were told to "aim for 2 gallons per mile" and this is with Premium gas. (pump) If we were to purchase the same gas right on the water, it was and extra 30 cents a litre. Adds up QUICKLY when you have a 100 gallon tank, don't it?Did the math on ours, works out to 3 gallons of diesel per mile. I sure do wish Mother Nature put the continental shelf closer to the coast in the north east because it’s going to be an expensive summer at the rate we are heading.
Last year though, after working it out, we calculated that we were getting between 1 1/4- 1 1/2 gallons to the mile. With further adjustments to our 'trim-ability' to be made here within the next month, we're hoping to get to the 'less than a gallon' a mile.
Skiers, we are NOT. We just 'bubble' and take our time.
