Yes wounded truck syndrome comes around every hunting season, but usually not .50 caliber bullets like that video. The worst one of those was a diesel Ford where the guy panicked trying to get out of his truck when he saw an elk and put a round through the floor, bellhousing, torque converter and into the block of the engine. He tried to tell me he left the rifle in the truck overnight and when it got cold the sear shrunk enough for the rifle to go off. The most common thing is people shooting their hood when they lean over it, then either shooting a hole through the roof or the floor into the transmission. Almost every single one of them has a story why it isn't their fault. Every once in a great while someone will get shot when two guys are bailing out of the truck and one guy is dragging his rifle across the seat when it goes off shooting his buddy.

I have also had claims where cars get shot up due to gang violence, disgruntled employees, jilted lovers, and just plain vandalization.
My sister's car got shot twice parked in front of my friends apartment. Called the cops and they took her car for three days. Taped all the doors and windows shut with evidence tape that wouldn't come off and ripped the inside apart looking for the bullets.

I have had the opportunity to play with this technology firsthand. I have been on the job for 29 years and have seen many developments in the way we "do business" but this was pretty cool. There is a long way to go with this technology and some major hurdles but I do see a place for this tech in our line of work.
