Man, so few people understand the power of the big inch Olds! I had a 71 Cutlass convertible with a very mild .030 over 455 that would absolutely embarrass everything factory, except the Grand Nationals. I kept the 10.25 compression and ran tetra-ethyl lead additive, from Stone Oil. I think the compression really helped the mild cam. Ahh, those days were good! To this day, I have a love for big inch Oldsmobiles.
The Olds made a ton of torque, but the Buick bested it, in stock form. I love all the 66-72 A-bodies.

When I was a kid, my dad had a '68 442. I knew it was cool then, but I wasn't old enough to drive it. Or joy-ride it. Plus, back then it was 'just a car' to most people.
Huge regret that he sold that car. Wish we still had it today.
The motor made 500 ft lbs at 3200 and 425 hp on 93 pump gas on the dyno.
I've done an old Buick, Camaro, Duster, Gran Torino and a couple Chevy trucks. The Olds was my wife's birthday present a couple years ago and I wanted to stay with the Olds motor instead of the Chevy hybrid.
It's in a 66 B body Jetstar 88 that weighs in at a little over 4K lbs.
