That’s a bad example of these type of cars, it’s a want to be donk lol. A lot of these are starting to have Turbo LS motors running 1000hp+ and pulling the front wheels on DOT street tires like rubber bands. I’d rather that than the little twats that can’t see the road hitting the rev limiter in park.

These guys are getting crazy with the Donk racing, $10-30,000 bets on a single race. Wouldn’t be surprised if they have full tube frames and fiberglass bodies in a couple years

I don't care how much HP you stuff in them, they look like dog shit. I can stuff 1000HP in an '82 Yugo, it'll still be shit. Like I said, I HATE them both. They also raised the COG drastically, effectively eliminating the one thing a car should do better than a truck, which is handling. So you now have a giant ass lifted shit boat that does nothing well but make noise. Otherwise, they'd be posting those 1/4 times.

You obviously lack knowledge about cars and grudge racing that’s for sure. Drag racing isn’t about handling, keep throwing other subjects in to pretend you know something.

Those cars weren’t built for handling from the factory.

This is when I was only 700 hp and later that night I pulled a 12.01.

This is after I went to 900 hp. All on fuel only. When I added a little squeeze, it was 1150hp and was running 11.2. All in a 7800lb diesel.
 
no...same goes for "Hooter's" fried pickles...of course Hooter's has gone down hill over the last couple decades. Used to have wing night on Tuesdays, they were a dime each, now they are way more expensive, and not nearly as good. I don't mind the thick girl waitresses, I'm not there looking for a date.
Hooters has always had crap food and waitresses that aren't even good enough for their own family

My buddy built one of the first purpose built(mostly) diesel drag trucks it was featured in a magazine. Wish I could find pictures.

It was a silver dodge, started as a single cab long bed 2wd but they back halfed it and dropped a tubbed short bed on. It was mean, had swing out door bars and full interior other than seats.

Since we're on trucks, if I had the means, something similar minus the rear wing would definitely be in the garage.

My buddy built one of the first purpose built(mostly) diesel drag trucks it was featured in a magazine. Wish I could find pictures.

I was top 50 in the country at one point. That said, the only outward indication that anything was going on was the exhaust pipe and drag bars. Otherwise looked totally stock. One big difference was that I still could pull my 12k fifth wheel

Used to never wear my seatbelt and one morning I kept getting this nagging feeling to put it on. Kept blowing it off for most of my drive, but said screw it and put it on. 30sec later got hit head on.

Weird.

From my perspective, always wear one.
8 yrs on a busy mtn freeway in FD/EMS and 20 yrs in a trauma center tell me its a good idea.

My brother was in a crash with my cousin when he was 12 and my cousin was 17.
Had he had his seatbelt on, he woulda died for sure.
Rolled 11 times, ejected on roll 5 they think (based on where he landed)
Stitches and a concussion.
Better chance of dying from the Rona than that being the case.

Just saw one with crushed T3 and T4 from unrestrained rollover. like a dang jumbo marshmallow squished kinda gone.
 
My daughter called to tell about the girl that had both feet on the dash in an accident and the airbag did wonders to her body.
Feet belong on the floor.
My wife puts her feet on the dash all the time when I'm driving...I try to tell her the danger in that, she won't listen, damn hard headed woman.

I never used a safety belt in tree stands when archery hunting. One day I was going out to put a hang-on stand up and thought, "I should really start using a safety belt" so I grabbed one that came with a stand and off I went. I attached the screw in steps and went up and put an eyebolt in the tree to help with hanging the stand. I went down a grabbed the stand and went up and hung it on the eye bolt and then attached the chain to secure it to the trunk. I was going to get on the stand but thought that I should go down and get the safety belt on before I got on the stand so I went down and put it on. I climbed up and was going to get my weight on the stand and thought, "I should probably attach it to the tree before I get on" so I did. I transferred my weight to the stand, raised the safety harness a bit and wiggled a bit to see if the stand was seated. It seemed pretty good so I flexed and bounced a smidge to lock it in and "bam" the stand disappeared so fast it was unbelievable and I fell a few feet until the safety harness held me. I looked down and there was a log laying right below me. I probably would have landed on my back across that log. That was the first time I ever wore a belt, someone was surely looking out for me.

I saw so many of those partial ejection roll overs in my previous job. Usually the occupant doesn't get thrown clear of the vehicle, they go part way out of the window then the vehicle smashes them. I have also seen accidents where an unrestrained occupant flying around inside of a vehicle kills an occupant that has their seatbelt on.

I used to climb antenna structures for a living, wood poles and steel towers. We didn't start using body harnesses until about 1998 or 1999; most of us hated them. Those first 8 or 9 years we wore body belts with positioning straps, never thought twice about it. Still prefer to free climb, but once I get to where I want to be, I'm strapped in with a full harness. Getting old(er) and not wanting to fall 35 feet again; happened 3 times when I was still young and invincible (read: dumb), the thought of taking a drop like that again and knowing I would be more than "just sore" for a couple days will make a fella think.

As a huge fan of the govt telling me what to do :)rolleyes:) I do believe seatbelts are a darn good idea.

I'm a rock climber that's free solo'ed routes that were too hard for my skill level to do unroped but I got lucky enough times to eventually get smart enough to quit soloing hard shit. Roped and harnessed, I've taken somewhere around a thousand lead falls, but I probably would not have taken on the risk if I didn't believe in the system. Hopefully, antenna climbers are just using the gear in case there is a freak accident.
