This is just a thank you to all my brothers on this site, all the men (and women) that make this place what it is. For those that don't know me, I went through a surprise divorce in 2017, wife "went to work" couple days before Christmas, never came back. Took one my dogs, the oldest one. Put me in a situation where I'd be guaranteed to lose (took all my money, left all the bills, did it all while lawyers were taking a two week vacation while I had basically that same two week window to find a lawyer or else). I know nobody up here but my army buddy, who moved in with me after his own divorce some months later. I was fucked.

I just came on here asking for advice, for help. Didn't know anyone else I could turn to and I knew some of you had been through it before.

The support was amazing and my brothers here pitched in and handled my court fees and covered the divorce. This allowed me to get an early start on saving and building credit (see, she had all the credit too, I had nothing). In that year I worked hard to do right by you guys, to not squander an opportunity. I saved and saved, and the only things I really splurged on were items that also worked to raise my credit. I also got pretty active with the GGWG program as well as our little "do a brother proud" thing where we get a deserving member something he really needs or wants.

So now I'm moving here real soon, it's all done pretty much and it's happening. I seriously doubt I could have done it without you guys and wanted to say thanks. You guys really put me in a strong position for this to happen thanks to that lawyer you paid for almost two years ago.

Don't wanna mention names, I know who some of you are but not all of you... And I'm thankful for not just the money, but the emotional support and advice, all that was worth weight in gold. Just being there for a brother means a lot too, especially when he's completely alone and suffering.

I won't go on any longer. Just wanted to say thanks for preventing me from falling through the cracks almost two years ago now. I'll never, ever forget that and I'll always strive to be a good member who contributes for the betterment of our community here.

PS, because of my army buddy, his divorce and situation, you guys actually hit a two-fer because he's moving in with me, sharing bills, and so this actually helps us both out more than you can imagine.

Aberdeen? Who wants to live there? Hoquiam for the win?
    Or the metropolis of Raymond.

My best wishes to you as well. Always appreciate your posts. We escaped the peoples republic of WA in July and made our move to TX to help it from turning blue. Still have a place in Eastern WA if we need to escape back! Good luck to you. We live on the East end of Ft. Hood and I love sitting out on our patio drinking my coffee in the morning and hearing the BOOM in the distance. Always wonder what their firing off.

Stryker , I remember you telling us about your hard times a few years ago, and Im glad things are going in a positive direction for you once again.
LIke I told you before, We are are own crazy family here, we take care of our own..

I hate seeing guys get it like that.

Years ago, i went through it. Learned a lot. I try as hard as i can to use what i learned to help guys. Turn something horrible into something good.

Super glad you (and now your brother) is rising above. Keep paying it forward. Sometimes, all we have is each other. And as we learned in The Suck.....that’s all you fucking need.

I’ve been down that road. Good for you, doing what needs to be done, and not being too proud to lean on others when you need help.

To life and living well, to death and dying well.
