For lack of a better term....schmutzup. This is on a Ruger Precision 6.5 with about 50 rounds through it and it's a super tight shooter. Took the stock brake off and said 'whoa hello what have we here?'. I know you guys will set it straight in a hurry if I need to have a gunsmith fix this. Threading the brake on and off there is no evidence it catches or has issues threading. I was going to put my Cherry Bomb on it tomorrow and use my Q can.....or maybe not? Don't know if this can have any adverse effect thanks for your input.

Sir, Looks like if "need be", you could carefully take a file, & take any material off of the outside diameter that might interfere with anything you were to try and screw onto those threads! Like previous poster stated, it looks like the issue is on the outside, & thankfully, not in the bore!!! Good Luck!!!!! Idaho-5R

Someone didn't want to admit they goofed after they dropped that. If the rifle shoots it's your call whether or not to pursue correction. Kinda bogus it made it out the door, but not likely to affect function.

Thanks guys appreciate it. I'm inclined to just leave it be if it's not an issue with accuracy and CB threads on fine....doesn't bother me in the least if it's not a functional thing I need to worry about. Rifle shoots fantastic so will just drop the bomb! Thanks

Recessed target crown, and neither the crown nor the radius surrounding it are damaged; the gases blow right past the damaged, protective "flat" and are not affected by it.

Keep a brake (or thread protector) on it and it'll be fine.

if it ain't broke...don't "fix it".

If it's a shooter, clean up the crown and shoot it till it doesn't group anymore and throw it out. If it isn't a shooter, send it back and demand they remove (and mail you) the left testicle of the "machinist" that dropped the muzzle end on the goddamned floor, then installed it (in your rifle). Get them to send you a replacement barrel and don't forget the anti sieze on whatever you thread onto it.

Like others said it's been dropped on the muzzle but the proof is in the shooting. I'd break that rough edge on the corner and leave it at that .
