Well fedex just dropped off a nice size box. Inside my new USO's
smile.gif

specs:
- 3.8-22x 44mm and 58mm objectives
- LEFT side windage .25moa clicks w/ dust covers
- EREK .5moa clicks
- Low profile adj. objective
- JWMOA Reticle
- Internal Bubble Level
- Red lit ret knob (right side)
- 34mm main tube

Some thoughts -

- Picture is clear & crisp to the outer edges
- The wide Field of View kicks ass
- The clicks on the windage are clear and precise with out any mush. Really like em.

- The EREK clicks are the same way. They are also spaced just right. Not to far apart not to close together. The EREK is numbered every 1moa with a line going up to the # and every half moa in between is a shorter mark.

- The gripping surface on windage is great as is the wider grip surface of the magnification ring. Same with the adj. obj.

- The adj. objective seems to be extremely forgiving vs the side parallax scopes I have. For example I had it set at about 700 and I was moving around between ~350 to ~1100 yards with no adjustment needed. Minimal movement was required when I got outside that spectrum.

- Colors are great but do fade out slightly when the sun is really shinning the 58mm. Seems to pull in a lot of light. I think if I put an ARD it would help.

- JWMOA Reticle - I like that the sight picture isn't filled with thick lines all over the place. The side duplex only go out 5moa each side but make it really easy for my eyes to find the center of the reticle at low power.

The christmas tree/crosses aren't over filled with lines everywhere. The #s are clear and easily readable at lowest power. The hash marks change size so they seem easier to count and keep track of faster.

The crosses are 2moa wide by 2moa high and are placed at multiples of 5moa. They seem to be spaced just far enough apart where they don't obstruct the sight picture while still allowing the user to use them instead of knobs.

The bubble level I haven't played with much it seems a little hard to see unless the sun is out. I'll have to try it out more once I get the scopes mounted up.

Weight - 58mm = 2 lbs 7oz. 44mm = 2 lbs 5oz.

Length 17.45" on both.

These camera shots are at 2x and they don't do the sight picture much justice as things are more clear and crisp then it's showing.

Hmmm interesting rec. I think I would like it better without the crosses. You got the erek, so dialing is no issue. Might be useful in a short time frame drill with varying distances. What type of shooting do you do primarily?

True MOA or shooters MOA (IPHY)?

But I really do like how the thick part of the rec does not go all the way to the edge of the sight picture. Really clears things up.

Interested in the bubble levels and how they work out for you in the field. Will they limit the FOV? easy to check? stuff like that. I want to get one installed in my scope, but not seen enough reviews yet...well really, I not had a break enough from shooting yet to not need it.

Overall, nice scopes.

DT

shooters moa.

I don't even notice the bubble level. I have to look for it. Time will tell though.

I have one with a 44 mm obj, the GAP mil scale reticle, .1 mil EREK knob, and .1 mil US #3 M40 windage. I love it. It's sitting on my custom .338 Lapua. Zeroed at 300 yards and I still have all my elevation adjustments (29 mils) left over. I doubt I'll ever buy another scope that's not a USO now.

Interesting reticle. Kinda has elements of a Horus but a great deal less busy and of course in MOA. By the way, I have always wondered, are USO's reticles and adjustments in S-MOA, true MOA, or are some one and some the other?

Re: My NEW 3.8-22x58/44 USO's w/ NEW JWMOA Ret !!!

Very nice! Thank you for sharing. One of these days I wanna do a custom reticle, pretty much take the TMOA CMG and RDP and mix them. I like the CMG a lot but would like the center to be nice and fine like the RDP cross hair section. I'd call it either JFC MOA or SCP MOA... lol

We actually make both. Knobs in both too.

This reticule will be a hit before long. I know the designer well. To say he's over thinks then re-thinks and is thorough is an understatement. I'm just glad he asked my advice and input on the design and usage of such an awesome ret.

Now that it is actually in a functioning scope I'm rethinking my conversion to Mils...

He's done an outstanding job on this and my hats off to USO for making it happen!

Yes, I'm really digging it. Love how the laternal field of view is open.

I heard that USO will change reticles for you, if you want new one (i.e. this one). Is this the case and how much does it cost??

Also, what is the width of the lines on the reticle? Assume under 0.1moa, but would be interested to hear.

Thanks,
James
