Guys its a good time to contact your senators, this shit has to be stopped, it will lead to a civil war... Trump, Bloomberg, DiFI, my POS senator Cornyn, all teaming up to take our rights and our only line of defense against despots, despots in robes, despots in uniforms, despots in pin stripe suits, despots on Camps.

Yes before we know it you wont be able to state your dislike publicly for anything without being red flagged.

1st and 2nd gone with one stroke of the pen.

It may even be enforced retroactively on something posted or said years ago.

Aww come on it's not like the FBI would ever lie of submit fraudulent information to a judge. Errr, well I guess that is about all they do. The presumption of innocence is long gone. Virtually all all of the recent headline grabbers have been known or reported to the FBI, who subsequently did nothing to stop them from killing people. But now all the sudden we are supposed to trust them to decide who among us should be allowed to own guns. Bullshit!

To add to the above comment on removing the 1st and 2nd at the same time, they are giving the corrupt justice department who is currently attempting a coup the go or nogo over who gets to own a gun... this is fucking insane,,, tells me everything about all of them..

To quote The Joker, "This Town needs an enema!"

Shit's gonna happen? Might as well not look like downtrodden schmucks when they recount our history.

We all know what time it is.

According to them none of us should own ant firearms . if you don't know what a dynamic entry is you'd best learn . The time to learn is not when one is being executed on your front door .

When they start I will probably expatriate my family and morn the loss of freedom in America from abroad.

Here's the deal on all these "Red Flag" laws... There's already a mechanism in place, probably in every single state, to do the exact same thing but better. All these new laws do is remove the firearms, and it's done so ex parte so the defendant doesn't even get to have their say in front of the judge. That's the real problem with the constitutionality of them, there's no defense and in many of these states the burden of proof is on the defendant, another slap in the face of the Constitution.

But none of these laws are even necessary. As I've said before on here, my lady works in mental health and I know a thing or two about it myself as a result. While we did away years ago with involuntary commitment to a mental institution just because someone is "crazy", there's still a means for someone who is a danger to themselves or others to be taken into protective care for treatment. That treatment part is the key here, because as we all know if someone wants to kill or commit suicide, they're going to find a way so long as they're on the streets, and removing firearms but not giving them any care does nothing for the individual or society. If a person is threatening suicide or homicide, they're taken into custody by law enforcement or taken to the hospital by a family member, they're evaluated by a mental health professional, and if they're a threat they are kept in the hospital and sent for further evaluation and care. If they are a serious threat that isn't temporary (many moment of anger or drunken threats that once sober are no longer present), they are given a court hearing for court ordered commitment. They get legal representation, both sides are heard, a judge rules, and there's an appeal process. It's all already in existence.

Make no mistake, these red flag laws have zero to do with public safety, preventing suicide, stopping mass shootings, or stopping a domestic situation from going bloody. Every one of those areas can be thwarted by law enforcement or a family member with a call, and nobody's guns are taken without due process.

These laws have everything to do with unconstitutionally stripping away civil rights from anyone on a whim. There's no need for them for a safe society, this is "legal" gun confiscation at its core, and will be easily abused at every opportunity.

Best believe. If this passes, whenever they see fit, first victim of this law that is targeted but doesnt give up there arms, the media will paint them as a mentally ill terrorist to validate the "need for such a law." It would take the character witnesses of the targeted to set the record straight in the public eye before people start to smell the fish. Any pundit of whoever is on power will be targeted.

I agree, but I think they'll pick a genuine bad guy for that parade. Not some poor guy that had a bad day and said the wrong shit to someone that's been sucking the 24/7 CNN all scary all the time titty, they'll make the archetype red flag law victim look like a fucking supervillain of neighbourhood proportions.

Basically the type of person specifically not within the scope of their reasons for Red Flag laws, genuine criminals who can be apprehended through due process— oh, shit. That's all criminals. Fuck me.

Yea, it's basically going to be like swatting. If you stand for your rights or don't like a buncha motherfuckers you don't know on your property with guns of their own, they fuck your whole life. Safe bet your dog or anyone else in that house who's ungrateful gets fucked too.

I know there are specifics to this, but the fundamental aspect is the foregoing of an actual investigation. "Due process second", if you remember the words of our fearless leader. Red flag laws are meant to be bright eyed and bushy tailed for miscarriages of justice upon firearms owners of all walks.

The other thing this will do which I think is another actual desire of the evil communists, is it will piss off the people who just got their property stolen from them at machine gun point & will make some of them decide to go all in with teaching the idiots a proper lesson...

The Communists just hope that it will be some innocent civilians that pay the price so they can ramp up more control... except they might be surprised to learn that freedom loving types don't usually just go kill random innocent people.

That is the crux of the matter. The accuser no longer has to prove that you’re dangerous. YOU have to prove that you’re NOT dangerous.

How do you do that? You don’t

LGOWI gentlemen

To where?
Of course we are discussing theoretical situations which hopefully will not occur, and if they should occur everything else in the world will be different too. I believe Ronald Regan when he said that America was freedom's last best hope, so I would not be looking for freedom as I doubt it would be easily found. I would be looking for a modicum of security and comfort. With proper planing this could be found in many places. Currently I think (I am not making any recommendation for anyone else) we could do well enough in either the Philippines or Singapore.

Phillipines is overrun with islamic radicals in many outlying islands the several moderate islands will likely crumble with no support.
Not making recommendations for anyone else, but still 90% Catholic, and my wife owns a decent chunk of property near the ocean in an area that is extremely popular with tourists.

Many of us with a background of violent military service would have difficulty defending ourselves in court against that. By training, I’m a very dangerous person. By experience with two runs in combat and another eight years in protective work in Afghanistan, I fit every mold that should make me the stereotypical troubled veteran. I have no PTSD, but that’s just one study away that we never get services because of the stigma. I’ve never been arrested once, never been investigated and never had a complaint levied on me, but even I would have a very difficult time in court if I pissed the wrong person off and they took out a false statement against me.

This is fucked three ways to Sunday. This law and all the likes need to die because people see it for its unconstitutional grounds and its potential for abuse. Spread the word outside the shooting community, and especially to all the fudds out there.

Probably part of why society has conditioned to "See something, say something".

Everyone hits the cell phone these days to reports any roadway infraction that offends them.

Next will be "My neighbor has guns".

The passing of the RI Red Flag laws has certainly tamed my tongue and significantly reduced my visibility.

In certain respects the change in my behavior, in and of itself, is not a bad thing. In and around where I live and even at the gun clubs I frequent, I am careful what I say and to whom I say it.

I sometimes worry about this forum and who may be monitoring it. In all honesty, If the Feds had a reason, we are all one IP address away from uncovering our identity. I have often thought about using a private VPN for every communication I do but it is a pain in the butt.

Its amazing that modern politicians forget that the 2A was written not as a right given to us, but a notice to them that we WILL be armed in order to shoot them in the face if they try and pull the very thing they are doing. Its sad, really.

I all ready have neighbors like that.

A "good" neighbor, a buddy of his and I were in his garage, cleaning toys after making some noise. A soccer mom, driving her Escalade stops in front of drive way. Threatens to call the police, because she saw us unload truck and " could see what we were doing" ( everything was in range bags or cases, his bench is on the back wall of garage, not exactly in open view).
It offender her, didnt want her kids to see guns, we should know better, we should be responsible. If we werent capable, we shouldnt have them, blah, blah, blah.
We didnt curse, and were polite, her attitude went south and developed diarrhea of the mouth. I forgot to mention her 2 kids with 2 friends were in SUV, when she was using every four letter word.
Short version she called police, they drove by slowly, saw us in garage, waved, shock their heads smiling and drove off.

^ That is why i purposefully dont have neighbors. I bought land in the middle of a 200 acre bean/corn field. I regularly walk outside, nekked as a jay bird just b/c i can. Ive got my own 200 rifle range with a berm, steel, and paper targets, and dont have a single mother fucker to complain about what i do. I have been very blessed to be able to do so, but if i weren't, i would consider my neighbors above all else when choosing a new place to live and raise a family.

Guitar cases and other musical instrument cases / sport equipment bags are your friends if you are looking to be more discreet in the future...

I do that when I have to transport long guns.

I wish the police would visit the soccer mom and inform her that nothing the men were doing was illegal and reprimand her from making bogus calls like that again or she would be arrested for making false charges. Maybe she would learn a lesson...

I know where she lives, so does everyone else on street, she is a ball busting, intrusive, self aggrandizing cunt.
She called the police to file a camplaint on me for mowing yard after dark last fall, it was 1830 hrs.

Reading his story I didn't get the impression of one who kept a clean whistle. More of a beat up soccer mom van with unkempt driver in undersized t-shirt and complementary fat rolls bulging over the waistline of a pair of worn out tights.
