Re: Need a supressor review for M1A
<span style="font-weight: bold">Quick update:</span>
I was able to attend the 2009 Silencer Shoot in September with my SEI/Fisher M14DC 0.30 caliber sound suppressor.
I brought along my MK14 SEI Mod 1, M21A5 RRM, my 7.62 Norinco AKM and a bunch of ammo.
All three weapons wear the correct SEI DC Vortex.
<span style="font-weight: bold">Observations:</span>
The MK14 SEI Mod 1 with it's 18" standard profile chrome lined barrel performs 100% with 168 gr and heavier ammo when suppressed.
147 gr NATO cycles about 98% of the time...
The M21A5 RRM has a 22.0" standard profile barrel and cycled everything I fed it. Very accurate with negligible bullet drop.
This is a real nice K.I.S.S. configuration.
The 7.62 Norinco AKM cycled Wolf, Golden Tiger and EBR Subsonic Jackhammer. It was surprisingly accurate on the 100 yard targets.
The SEI/Fisher M14DC 0.30 caliber sound suppressor performed 100% on all three rifles. I moved the can from rifle to rifle and back again without a single problem. I wore no hearing protection during the event and I experienced zero negative hearing effects. Also, I have no problem recommending the SEI/Fisher M14DC 0.30 caliber sound suppressor to anyone interested in suppressing their M14/M1A or any other 0.30 caliber weapon.
