Need advice on computer program/iOS app for playing music.

Long story short a few years ago I loaned an acquaintance $100 and for collateral I got three PA speakers and a soundboard. Last summer my sister-in-law and then cousin were both getting married and I offered to DJ the weddings as our gift. I bought this flash drive on eBay that has more than 120 gigs of music including the entire billboard top 100 from 1952 to 2015. Someone suggested I use a program called mixxx (sounds like a porn site I know). Well that at the first wedding everything went great for about the first 30 minutes been the program started shitting the bed on me. I ended up having to scramble and play music off my phone (1 month free trial of Shazam) and the computer (via YouTube). I was able to manually mix at transitions using my soundboard so there wasn't awkward dead air, in the end it went all right but it stressed me the hell out. Before my cousins wedding I deleted and re-downloaded the program tested it for like three hours at home and it worked fine. 20 minutes into the reception exact same thing happened.

I got a phone call on Tuesday from a good family friend who's having a big surprise party for him and his wife's 40th wedding anniversary and whoever he had taking care of music backed out. The party is this Saturday (as in tomorrow).

I enjoy DJing under the traditional definition of a DJ… That being: the person who plays the next song at a party. Now, the modern interpretation of DJ is like EDM/beats/club etc. I don't really care anything about that but I do enjoy DJing at parties, tailgates, and would definitely consider doing more weddings to make extra cash if I got all my shit together.

I need a program or app that I can play songs off my flash drive with. My poor ancient shitty laptop has nowhere near enough memory for me to save the songs to the hard drive. I have looked at all of the DJ programs and they are all complicated, expensive, and full of features that I have no need or use for. I just need something that preferably has two simulated deck's so that I can fade in and out my transitions, and the ability to pull tracks from my database onto a queue. also the ability to play the next song in the queue automatically so I can walk away for a minute if I need to.

Does anyone know of a program that will RELIABLY do what I need without all of the unnecessary bills and whistles of a Full blown DJ program? My dad has A current generation iPad and I would be down to use an app but it also has nowhere near the capacity to hold this library of Music and it does not have a USB drive… Is there a way I can jump it off computer to iPad?

Any suggestions ?

Most guys using flash drives / USB's are DJ ing on Pioneer CDJ 2000 units ,
you just pop the USB in the drive port and the tracks appear on the units screeen .
Ouput fron CDJs to your mixer via RCA leads and your away . Can't help you
with software sorry , it seems they all crash at some time or other , especially
laptop based systems like Serato . I use Vynil and CDs which are stone reliable .
