Need help to understand my ladder test

Bullet: Nosler CC 69grs
Brass: Norma
Powder: Norma 203-B
Primer: Federal 205

Round-robin fired at 420m (As described by Jason Baney)

Lot 1: 24,0grs (ES 12m/s for 3 shoots)
Lot 2: 24,3grs (ES 5m/s for 3 shoots)
Lot 3: 24,6grs (ES 15m/s for 3 shoots)
Lot 4: 24,9grs (ES 12m/s for 3 shoots)
Lot 5: 25,2grs (ES 5m/s for 3 shoots)
Lot 6: 25,5grs (ES 3m/s for 3 shoots)

Groop 4 is tight and "inside" group 3

Group 6 is tight and five out of six shoots for group 5 and 6 is within 67mm.... (the velocity spreeds are less than group 3 and 4)

As this is my first ladder test, I dont really know what to look for...? I'm going to verify the laddertest later, but I realy would like to hear from you guys.

I would say your sweet spot is lot 3-4.

Agreed. Between 3 and 4. Load up a second test:

24.5
24.6
24.7
24.8
24.9
25.0

You shouldn't see a lot of spread from these charges. It will probably be pretty even. If so, then your optimal charge for this combination is about 24.7 or so.

I will add one more time to this mix. The ladder test is where it pays to have a good scale, and be able to maintain your charges weights in you groups as tight as possible.

The Ladder trick helps with stability. Keep her steady!

The ladder test results are easier to read when only one round is fired for each charge weight. Firing shots for group is more in line with the OCW test, which is what I prefer, and can be accomplished at 100 yards.

Did my verification test today. Same ladder test.

I set my bullets 0,03" deeper due to magasine length.

Loaded up 7 Lot

1: 24,3
2: 24,5
3: 24,7
4: 24,9
5: 25,1
6: 25,3
7: 25,5

I then plotted the data from both tests in an excel sheet:

I'm realy happy with my resault with this bullet, and going to fine tune my load by changing seating depth and primers with 24,6grs powder.

what is your scale that you plotted on the vertical axis? what value are plotting?

Point of impact above my aiming point is on my vertical axis, found the senter of the 3 shoot groups and measured vertically.

Hi again!

I'm gona perform a ladder test for my 308win barrel. I'm planing to mount a suppressor on the barrel. So my question is: Will the ladder test resault be different with or without the suppressor?

Should I wait until the supressor is mounted?
