I recently purchased a 110 round drum for my GSG-5PK on GunBroker from deerslayer40 (Broad Mountain Ent. Inc., Frackville, PA). The drum arrived yesterday via UPS. Upon initial inspection, it seemed extremely well made but further examination resulted in the discovery of hairline cracks in the polymer of the top of the mag (please see photo). I immediately tried to contact the seller who apparently does not answer the telephone. I followed up with an email which explained the situation. A few hours later, the seller responded:
“if the package was damaged during shipment that will be a shipper insurance claim, if it came that way from the factory it's a warranty claim through ATI (information should be inside the box for that) let me know either way”
It seemed pretty clear to me at this point that I was not going to receive any help from the seller so I contacted ATI directly at 1-800-290-0065. ATI’s knowledgeable representative informed me that they were aware of a problem and the manufacturer has already changed the formulation of the polymer used in making the drum but reformulated drums have yet to arrive in the U.S. at the present time. They issued me an RA number so that I can return the defective unit. They have also promised that I will be one of the first to receive a replacement drum with the reformulated polymer when they reach ATI. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I suggest you contact them via telephone or email ([email protected]). Hopefully, you will receive the same level of customer care that I did.
