I got my 7wsm from Jon on Thanksgiving evening! I am super excited about this rifle. From start to finish this is the easiest build I have ever done. Jon is a super guy and called me several times to double check to make sure I get exactly what I wanted. Can't say enough good things about Jon, his attention to detail is impressive. I really felt like he built the rifle the exact same way he would do it for himself. He even made a last minute trigger adjustment on the rifle when I got there to pick it up.

On to the specs:
Rem 700 Trued Action
Fluted bolt and Hunter Knob
Krieger 24" 8.5 twist spiral fluted with Vias Muzzle Break in Rem Varmint Contour
McMillan A5 in Desert Camo with Adj Cheek
CDI Precision DBM
Jewell Trigger
NF 5.5-22x50
Seekins Base and Rings
Cerekoted in Flat Dark Earth

Re: New Beanland 7wsm Done

So I couldn't wait to get this new toy to the range so I loaded up some test loads and headed to the range.

From the first group I knew this would be a hammer...

and just before running into pressure it shot this:

I was worried that the 8.5 twist wouldn't shoot the 162gr Amax's but as you can see, I have no worries now.

Re: New Beanland 7wsm Done

just got off the phone with Jon Beanland, gotta love it when your smith calls to make sure you are happy with your rifle and to make sure everything was the way you wanted it.....can't say enough good things about Beanland Custom Guns.

Haha, thats what I figured you'd say. Congrats on an awesome rifle!

Re: New Beanland 7wsm Done

Well, the real reason you got your rifle so fast is that I wasn't able to get mine into the mail in a timely manner, so Jon had a "hole" in his schedule. Or at least that's my excuse for just getting mine into the mail today. Hope his turnaround is just as quick. Maybe that means I need to invest in some dies and brass pronto.....

Nice rifle. It's always nice to see someones project turn out nice, especially when you are planning on using the same maker...

3036 with the 105 amax at 4600asl. I was running 3138, put slowed it down to run the HV reticle in the NF compact. I am loving that scope and would highly recommend it !! Jon's scope is in the picture. The new 2.5-10x32 ROCKS

Re: New Beanland 7wsm Done

Ive been telling you all this for a year now. Jon is the man. His work and personal attention, rivals no others!!!! GAP builds a heck of a rifle, but whens the last time they called you to ask how it was doing!!! Jon will talk with you through the hole process. before the build starts. start. middle of the build. when he is done. and next week. Jon cares about his customers, and he goes above and beyond, his duties. I seriously doubt there are to many gun builders who care as much!!! No one else will ever build my rifles!!! Try him for yourself!! you wont have anyone else build your rifles either! Lee

Re: New Beanland 7wsm Done

Does Mr Beanland do barrels for ai/ae's like GAP does. I mean will he chamber it to what you want and send you the barrel to change out yourself?

Re: New Beanland 7wsm Done

I currently do not, but i may in the near future. I do most of my chambering on a Southbend Heavy 10 that is not setup to cut metric threads. I do have a Nardini lathe that will cut metric threads and i may start doing those barrels on it very soon. I have and AIAW myself that i am wanting to put a barrel on.

For those of you that don't know, Beanland can fucking shoot too. SOB spanked a bunch of us regulars at the Steel Safari this year. I was impressed.</div></div>

I think the fact that he shoots and knows what we want to do with our rifles makes him a better gunsmith.
